“Way better than last stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Decided to give the Red Lion in Lewiston another try , and amazingly better experiance! No problems , king room , flat screen TV , hot tub was working everything was great! Well , one little problem , Wife found one of the drinking glasses had been broken & still put in the room , took it down and was promptly replaced + gave us breakfast coupons! All in all a really nice night!

“Not up to Normal Red Lion Standards”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Tip: This is the only "Three Star" property in the area. You can save a substantial amount of
money booking your room through an on line site such as Hotwire or Price line. Just
remember to opt for a THREE star room.

I routinely stay in the Red Lion Hotels when I travel for business.
And, while this is probably the nicest Hotel in Lewiston, this particular property is so NOT up to the regular Red Lion Standards.

It certainly does not merit the "Three Star" rating given it by many travel sites.

The "business center" is one computer and a printer sitting on a table near the front door.
The indoor swimming pool has not been open the last few times I have stayed on the property.

The hotel is awkwardly sited. Located on a hill adjacent to the two most busy roads in Lewiston. This makes for some very noisy rooms.

On the positive side, the beds are very comfortable. The rooms are very clean. There are
a number of different restaurants located right around the hotel.

The last time I stayed, I booked the hotel through Priceline.com, and savde over 50% from the
lowest rate offered by Red Lion directly.

Room Tip: The rooms which face the parking lot are incredibly noisy. If you need a quiet room, ask for a room...

“Decent, but poor room placement.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We stayed here as a stopping point on our way back to Seattle from Darby, MT. I have stayed at Red Lion hotels frequently, especially in Spokane while visiting family, and have come to expect great rooms, service, and amenities. With that in mind, I was a bit let down by this location.

The check-in was quick, but the attitude of the front-desk staff was a bit tepid. We were placed in a room in the annex (called the SeaPort building), and so we had to haul all our stuff across the parking lot. Now, that in and of itself was not a huge problem. However, the room we were in there was very poorly lit, had an odd floor plan (it seemed like an ADA-compliant room), and obviously had not been upgraded. To make matters worse, the SeaPort conference facilities (across from our room!) were in full use, with noise both in the hall and outside our ground-floor window going late into the night.

Otherwise, the room amenities were standard. TV, refrigerator/microwave combos in every room (although our fridge had some issues maintaining temperature), hairdryer, and room service (which we didn't use). The room was otherwise clean and comfortable.

Having said this, hotel pickings are slimmer than I expected in Lewiston, and this is probably the best there is. Plus, with the rate I got through Priceline, I cannot complain too much. I would stay here again, but definitely hope for a better room!

Room Tip: Don't let them put you in the SeaPort annex.

“One Of Our BEST Trips Yet!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

Wow, my wife and I just returned from one of the BEST trips we have had yet!

I travel very frequently for business, and this hotel is one of my favorites that I stay at. You can read some of these other reviews, and I think in staying at any hotel you will run into a periodic problem. As a frequent traveler I do too, but I do not let that affect my entire stay. This Hotel has some of the nicest employees that I have met on my travels. I am here often enough that they call me by my name (without looking at the computer screen to cheat!). Any problem that I have ever brought to their attention was remedied immediately, and they were genuinely apologetic. I am a businessman, and understand that nothing can be 100% perfect everyday, everytime. Anyone that reviews and thinks that, is not realistic. The true test of a great hotel is how they handle issues.

Now on to my wonderful trip that I just returned from. If you have not traveled through Lewiston at Christmas Time, you are missing out. They always decorate the park just across from Red Lion. I have always driven by it, and appreciated it, but this year my wife traveled with me, so we walked through it, and it was awesome! This is walking distance from the hotel, and our room overlooked it, so we could enjoy the nice lights from our window view!

The Restaurant is not Ruth's Cris, but I will tell you that the Rib Eyes that my wife and I had were some of the BEST that I have had the pleasure of eating. I also really liked the BBQ Salmon, wonderful veggies, and my personal favorite is the Wedge salad before dinner. Long Island Ice Teas were tasting great, and the service was busy, but very good. Everyone really cares here.

The only thing that I can say slightly negative about this hotel is that the beds were not updated a few years ago when they updated the decor like the other Red Lions. I stay at any Red Lion that I can, and this one is one of the best, but the beds are not the plush pillow tops that are in other sites. Pillows could be better too, but all this is being picky. I still slept good.

In reading some of the other reviews, I will tell you that I have stayed in rooms on the top floor, bottom floor, main wing, far wing, facing the highway and river, and facing the parking lot. None have been poor or bad, too noisy, etc. Any hotel next to a highway will have some road noise if you really listen. Any hotel will have noise from the parking area if you really listen. This is no worse than any others out there, so I disagree with many of the previous negative reviews.

i have stayed in this hotel over 60 times in the past 2 years, and continue to give them my business on every trip! You should too!

Tip on a great out of the way restaurant - Empire of India has some of the BEST indian Food you can get. It is a non-descript store front in down town, but the owner is one of the most gracious hosts I have had the pleasure of meeting, and also one of the best cooks! Check it out if you like fine Indian Cuisine. I eat there almost every trip!

Room Tip: During Christmas Time, ask for a room viewing the park so you can see the lights.

“Very good place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

I stayed 4 nights at the Red Lion in Lewiston. It was easy to find but difficult at first to get into the very large parking lot which is shared by other businesses. since I paid through Priceline, no registration was needed and check in was swift with a room nearby the front desk. Everthing was fine, the room had a microwave and a small refrigerator. The dining area and food were very good and on Monday through friday, you can participate in the breakfast buffet for $8 which is a great bargain. In the lobby is a computer with free internet and easily accessible and not crowded. I purposely did not bring my laptop for this feature so I cannot comment on the free wi fi. all the staff were great and because I was visiting relatives i did not need local information. Its on Main st. and you can drive to nearby shopping centers. However if you are going to Lewiston/clarkdston, you are going to need your own car. There is no public transportation and everything is far apart.

Room Tip: it seems that all rooms are good, however stay away from the smoky bar. It stinks.
