There are some negative comments about this hotel, I do not understand why. Our room is large, has lots of windows, the room is spotless and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The location is great - walking distance to restaurants. My only suggestion would be to have breakfast included (there is a restaurant on site and the hotel does not offer an included breakfast).

We stayed here this year because they advertised $99/night "jazz rates" during the annual Sun Valley Jazz Jamboree; most hotels charge a lot more during mid-October because of the popularity of the jazz festival.

The good: Low rates, beds were comfortable; linens were good quality.

The bad: The place is generally run down. Carpets were soiled and need replacing, Internet access was very flaky and unreliable. Toilets were of poor design, and mostly required two (or even 3) flushes to get rid of solid waste. The outside gangplank boards were showing their age, and because of their flex, did not inspire confidence - a rather unsafe feeling.

For next year's jazz festival, we'll go back to where we previously have stayed, even though it's about 40% more.

This hotel was great for the price. Sun Valley is an older place, so the less expensive resorts are often kinda run down. This place showed its age, but I had no qualms with it and would definetly stay again. The hot tub was great after a long day hitting the slopes.

The Clarion Inn of Sun Valley Is exactly what I needed! The staff was Amazing Nicky the GM worked hard to make sure that I was taken care of making me feel like I was part of the family. I glanced at the reviews about this hotel and they are way out of line making the opinion of Sun Valley true once again that snobs are imported. I never had an issue at the hotel and the price was more then perfect. Stay and eat the amazing food in the hotels onsite restaurant! I will be sure to come back again!!! Nicky you were my favorite part! (and to the person who said she was rude maybe your better of staying home sounds like you can’t manage in the real world!)
