“Sleepless Night”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2011

The Waterpark next to the Hotel is fine. However, if your room is anywhere near the stairs or on a lower level the noise is unreal. I mean UNREAL! Don't expect to get any sleep. There was garbage left in our room when we opened drawers. The phone to the front desk did not work. If you leave something behind at checkout do not expect any help from the Hotel as they don't have a Manager on site, (that is what I was told) and only their housekeeping can access lost and found. The problem is they are not available. I even called for a few days after our stay to see if they found our belongings. I all I can say is Housekeeping did not feel like bothering to check. So if you come to this hotel and leave anything behind kiss it goodbye. I kept a log of names of the staff that I did talk to. It is to bad that they don't have better management. There is no doubt in my mind that is where the problem is.

“Way overpriced!”

We booked this hotel on the 3rd of December thinking it looked great online. the charge was $250 dollars to have a medium suite and a pass to the water park for My wife and I and three of our kids. When we showed up and saw the room we were very disappointed. It was a $75-$90 range room at best that had a particular odor to it and was incredibly un-cozy. The Fluorescent lamps took some time to come on fully and for a suite, it was particularly small. It had a Motel 6 feel to it. We use hotels for some 30 nights per year for holidaying and this was very poor in quality and had no 'home' feel to it. Then we checked out the water park and realized very quickly that the photo's of the park were taken with a wide angle lens. It was not very large and was lacking the quality. It reminded us of our public pool in our hometown. This place has a fraction of the amenities of a Great Wolf Lodge. Furthermore we realized that all the other amusements were not included in the 'fare' . Bowling and the arcade was an extra $100 for the night only. I spoke to the manager about our concerns and he of course gave us the line that there were 81 happy people in the hotel and all they get are compliments. Well, we have been around and will tell you that if people are happy with this at the price they are paying, they do not get out much and do not know what a fair market price is. We left and cancelled our booking and checked into the Hampton Inn in Couer D'alane for $109 on New Years Eve and had a fantastic time. Comfort, pool and hot tub and great snacks and incredible breakfast. We are so happy we made the change. This Holiday Inn Express is WAY overrated. First couple we met at our new hotel shared our sentiments as they live in Hayden and had a similar experience that year. Watch out for this hotel!!

“Great stop along the way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2010

We were enroute to Portland, Oregon and we needed to overnight. We chose this hotel initialy because they accepted our dogs. We had two with us. We were greeted at the front desk and given an upgrade. Our dogs were shown to the dog dish where they selected their treats. It was great. They also had doggy bags as well.

This hotel is an average hotel but we were able to get a King sized bed and it was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and I had no hesitation using the bathtub (which is always a good sign). The rooms were a good size.

The breakfast is complementary but I would not call it healthy. My husband calls it the Fat and Sugar breakfast. There was yogurt but it all contained aspartame or some kind of sweetener which was ironic because it sat next to the cereal which consisted of froot loops and various other sugary cereals and biscuits with some horrible sauce (it looked horrible;I would never eat it). It would be great to add a few more "heart friendly" or healthy breakfast items.

Overall we were happy with our stay and stayed again on our way back. Big plus because they allow dogs.

We took our 9 year old daughter to Silverwood and we stayed at this hotel. It is short drive to the theme park. The hotel room was nice and modern. Breakfast buffet was good with different varieties. We generally liked our stay. Although I would say that their rates are expensive and it should have come with complimentary water park pass at least to the amusement center next door (Triple Play) since they don't have an indoor pool. My daughter liked going to Triple Play. The hotel isn't really all that fancy for the price that we paid and without their own pool. The fitness room was not great. We paid for visitor pass at a nearby gym (360 fitness) and it was decent. There is only one elevator and it is slow. The location is great though and close to restaurants, gas stations, retail stores and grocery stores. There is a Walmart location very close to the hotel that was opening up soon.
