This AmericInn hotel exceeded my expectations. I am more of a boutique hotel kind of girl, but traveling for over 10 days with a 2 and 4 year old, we opted for the value of this chain hotel for the first half of our stay. I was pleasantly surprised with the gorgeous building, huge and well-maintaned indoor pool, and the 'above and beyond' service offered. There was a full breakfast offered each morning, from eggs and waffles, to bagels and yogurt, and in the afternoons you could visit the kitchen area for hot tea and fresh baked cookies. If you are traveling with kids you know how great it is to be able to grab a quick breakfast early in the morning vs. searching out a restaurant, etc. A big fireplace in the lobby made a good place to warm up after playing in the snow. After our stay at AmericInn, we moved into Sun Valley to stay at a larger, more "upscale" location, and I found myself missing the easy, charming AmericInn. There is a movie theater right across the street and lots of cute local restaurants and coffee shops in town.
As for the rooms, a big improvement would be to add down comforters with crisp white duvets. One thing I'll mention.. the rooms can get quite dry if you are there in the winter and not used to running the heat all night. If you have a travel humidifier bring it along!
