“Customer service-what a joke!”

When I booked the hotel, I was assured that a late check out would be no problem. I also asked for a late checkout upon arrival and confirmed that in the morning. I was surprised when the front desk called me and told me that we would have to check out at the normal time ONE HOUR before. They actually called twice, each time rushing me to return. We were out and about enjoying Boise and had to rush back, after having to cancel our plans. To boot, there is no grass or anything romotely close that a dog can relieve themselves on. Don't waste your money, I certainly wont ever again at this lousy place.

“Reasonably priced, good location”

We wanted an inexpensive, clean hotel within walking distance to the Knitting Factory and Safari Inn was right on. The room was clean, spacious and quiet and staff were helpful. Nothing exceptional about this place, but hey - that's what we paid for.

“Good, clean basic hotel, great location and price”

One night in Boise and we stayed at the Safari Inn. It's in a great location and is reasonably priced. It's rather no frills but we didn't come to Boise for the hotel. It's clean and the staff were helpful, free wifi.

“downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

Perfectly positioned in Downtown. The park and university are all easily walked to. Happy greeting from reception, asked for a top floor room with only one room next to ours if possible. Got a top floor room with the stairwell on one side. Consequently very quiet. There are some roadside rooms I'd make sure to avoid. Could do with air con in the hallways. Simple, unremarkable breakfast. Clean room, tho it was warm and the air con was a bit fierce. All in all, a good value place to stay.
(a word of warning for anyone using Hotels.com. I booked our room here thru them. I needed to put back our arrival by one day. Hotels.com said the room type we had booked was not available on our last night, but a bigger room was available for an extra $10. I agreed and this took our booking to $89. The next day I checked the hotels own website and rooms were available at every standard for much less. Indeed on checking in, my room rate was stated as $69, but as I had prebooked and paid thru Hotels .com, there was nothing I could do)

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the street

“Good deal for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

Had to attend a meeting in Boise on behalf of a nonprofit so the overnight stay was on me. Had stayed at the Grove in the past but the Safari had a much better rate.Reviews on Trip Advisor were good so I gave it a try. Location is excellent, place was clean, staff were friendly, parking was free and, as promised, the homemade cookies were wonderful which I really appreciated because I didn't have time to grab lunch. About the only negative was that while the place has been recently renovated, the room had a faint musty/disinfectant odor that older hotels sometimes have. But it was not very pronounced. Excellent value for the money and you can't beat the location if you want to be downtown. I'll stay there again.
