“Something remodeled by Ikea”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I don't know the hotel selection in Boise perhaps this is the best. It had to be a old hotel that was remodeled into modernist hotel with an Ikea feel. Walls are paper thin got to hear neighbor rooms conversations and trips to the bathroom. There is nothing either special or bad about the hotel just an average hotel with thin walls. If traveling with luggage there is no bell service.

Now they do have an excellent restaurant at the hotel Chandlers, reservations recommended if there on a Friday like we were.

“Unexpected swanky luxury”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Given the mixed reviews of this hotel, I was unsure of what to expect. I was amazed at the amenities in the hotel room including robes with Hotel 43 logo, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and shower gel! I had called in advance and surprising the front desk did not know whether conditioner was provided. The shower curtain was adorable and the bed was comfortable Having wifi as other reviewers have mentioned was easy to access in the room and free. The lobby was not cold even though it was raining and snowing while I was in Boise. The staff including valet and front desk were friendly. Rates tend to hover less than $100/night. For the quality of the bed and the style of the room, it is a GREAT deal. The one complaint is that rooms are noisy (walls are thin). I could literally hear the guest in the next room snoring! On the other side I heard someone sneeze. Therefore, if you are sensitive to noise, I would recommend the Marriott Courtyard in Meridien instead. It is reasonably priced albeit without the uniqueness and downtown location.

If you do decide to stay at Hotel 43 you might be interested in checking out "Bacon" which is a breakfast place offering 8 types of bacon (e.g., chocolate bacon) - right downtown. I did not try Chandler's, but all of the locals commented that it was the most expensive restaurant in Boise.I would agree that lighting is subpar, but the keurig coffeemaker is nice as are the local chocolates waiting on the desk and the arrival survival kit. Be prepared to pay $4 for water in the room.

“Great location, great bedding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We chose to stay at Hotel 43 mainly because it was connected to Chandler's Steakhouse and we didn't want to drive anywhere for dinner. Hotel 43 did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable. We had 2 nights of great sleep! We paid $20.00 extra for the PURE room. It came with an air purifier. I'm not really sure if that was necessary, but it was nice. Hotel 43 is walking distance to great restaurants and shops. (Don't miss Fork Restaurant!)

“Dark and cozy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

First off, GREAT location within walking distance that all of Boise's small but vibrant downtown has to offer, and not too far from the famed Greenbelt and parks. The room was chicly furnished, but the dark trendy decor and the inadequate lighting were an issue for us (we personally crave light, and with three in a room with only one good lamp, well, it just didn't work for us.) Bathroom, sink and closet area was a little small for three people.

The lobby was also small and very cold, as the big double doors swung wide open letting in the cold cold winter air. We like to use the hotel lobby to read, hang out, etc. but when the front desk clerk is wearing a down jacket and a scarf, you know it isn't going to work as an extended living space.

Staff was remarkably helpful and efficient. Room was very clean. Bed was perfect for my daughter, but I like a firmer mattress. Lots and lots of pillows!

Room Tip: Ask for a room NOT overlooking the 10th St Parking lot!

“Wonderful Bedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Best hotel bed I have slept on in 10 years. Quiet property, very clean, everything worked as advertised.
