“Nice hotel but some problems”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

This is a very new hotel with nicely equipped rooms, typical of new Hampton Inns. I think it is a fine place to stay, but read on and be aware.

When I walked in the hotel it had that mildewy smell of tired leaky plumbing and/or heating/ac ducts. Room 307 had a distinct “wet” odor, as if from damp plumbing within the walls, covered by layers of room freshener. The night manager offered us room 345 – it was the same, but with a tinge of cigarette smoke. She came to the room, said she couldn’t smell anything. It just smelled like the hotel, she said. I slept in 307 with a sheet over my head against the stink. In the morning I discussed the odor problem with the general manager, she said she’d look into it. In the end she comped us the room.

Room Tip: visit the room first to check for "off" odors.

“In town for meetings & interviews”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I was in town for a business meeting & interviews, and picked one of the Hotels close to the airport, as well as close to downtown. We checked in at front desk, and Kelly, the daytime manager was so great. She hooked us up with all the spots in Boise: Haircuts, great barbecue for lunch, and a wonderful steakhouse: Angells!!
Plus, she gave us a free upgrade (AAA) and the rooms were very clean, and spacious.
Made the trip very enjoyable. Thank you,

Room Tip: They take care of you. Free internet, cookies, and great breakfast. Always a hot cup of coffee

“Wonderful hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

We only stayed for one night at this Hampton Inn because we had a late flight into Boise and left early the next morning to drive to Oregon. This was a great hotel and I was sad that our stay here was so short. The lobby and breakfast area were spacious and nicely decorated. We had a lovely room with a balcony and a small kitchenette area (kitchen sink, microwave, and refrigerator). The room was very clean and comfortable. They had a simple, but good, complimentary hot breakfast. We did not have a chance to use the indoor pool, but it looked really nice. The staff at the front desk were very polite and cheerful, both when we check in and out. I would definitely stay here again.

“Great Boise stopover!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

The Hampton Inn at the Spectrum is new, big, clean and most of all has great Customer Service. After my last experience at Hilton Honners property (DoubleTree in Las Vegas) I vowed to NEVER stay at another. My better half wanted to stay at this hotel in Boise so I reluctantly agreed.

What a pleasant and refreshing difference. Jessica at the front desk was so professional and frinedly. She was everything you would wish for at the end of a long day of travel. The rooms are clean and new. The hotel is next to several really good restaraunts, theathers, close to the airport and convient to downtown as well. Highly recommend.

“A very nice Hampton, nicely located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

This is a great option when staying in Boise. While no better than the Homewood Suites a block away, it is typically less expensive and just as clean and comfortable with larger meeting areas. There is convenient access to the Interstate and lots of nearby restaurants (my favorite is Good Wood). It is also adjacent to the area largest movie theater.
