This is a very new hotel with nicely equipped rooms, typical of new Hampton Inns. I think it is a fine place to stay, but read on and be aware.
When I walked in the hotel it had that mildewy smell of tired leaky plumbing and/or heating/ac ducts. Room 307 had a distinct “wet” odor, as if from damp plumbing within the walls, covered by layers of room freshener. The night manager offered us room 345 – it was the same, but with a tinge of cigarette smoke. She came to the room, said she couldn’t smell anything. It just smelled like the hotel, she said. I slept in 307 with a sheet over my head against the stink. In the morning I discussed the odor problem with the general manager, she said she’d look into it. In the end she comped us the room.
