We had a group of 16 adults sharing rooms with reservations booked and confirmed by our corporate travel department. Normally we are a little of a crush at the front desk for 10-15 minutes in most hotels but we seemed to really be a burden on this hotel and the single person available to check us in. It took over an hour to check in 8 rooms despite the prior reservations?? At one point she stopped and checked in another guest despite members of our group still waiting patiently who had been there over 40 minutes.
The rooms were ok, about what you'd expect. We had one very frightening elevator experience where something popped loudly and the elevator shook for a second around the top floor. Somehow we averted an anticipated free-fall, and everyone got out of the elevator quickly.
The beds were average but had these tiny, little square pillows on them? Seemed reminiscent of pillows I've seen in Europe but smaller and not much filling. After a night of tossing and turning, I found the same situation shared by everyone else at breakfast in the lobby the next morning. The man setting up breakfast was friendly and the food seemed to be a good variety.
All in all, this hotel could be much better with updated bedding and some sort of effort to fix whatever it was that made check in such a problem. I've been in many hotels around the world and have never seen check-in take so long. Send the front desk clerk to customer service training, too. Lisa needs some help.
