Excellent service, staff very friendly and room had all they said and more, excellent food also.....Trip was june 2007 for two nights.

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn on many occassions for several years. My grandparents live in Waycross so we are frequent visitors. I have never had a complaint about the hotel. You also never know who you might run in to...we met Willem Defoe there (the Green Goblin from Spider Man, Clear and present Danger).

Ok I admit I’m a big fan of the original Holiday Inn design which is the 2-floor exterior corridor surrounding a courtyard and pool area - full service restaurant and lounge. There isn’t many of the originals left and not many with the high standards of the Holiday Inn - Waycross Ga.

Opened in 1963 and renovated many times since, this Holiday Inn has been honored to be in the top Inns in the system on several occasions and they are committed to excellence. Standing at the junction of US.82/85/1 this 143-room hotel is a welcome sight.

I had the pleasure to stay 4-nights in a 2-room suite which I reserved online at the low advance purchase rate. Included in my rate each morning was a hot buffet breakfast. The restaurant also offers reasonably priced lunch buffets and a very nice Sunday buffet with a lot of tasty southern dishes. For dinner I had delicious fried shrimp - (10 large shrimp with baked potato and 2 other sides, plus salad bar and only $12.95.) In our world of fast food restaurants and cookie-cutter eateries its nice to stay at a hotel that has a high standard restaurant and lounge. It was the first week of March and the pool was open and in full sunlight all day. I enjoyed the high speed internet and 70-plus channels of cable television. The bed was firm and the rooms spotless. The grounds are full of palm trees and well manicured landscaping, the parking is well lit at night and I’ve had the pleasure of being treated with gracious southern hospitality from all the employees.

Enjoyed a 2/04 stay on the way to Florida. For some reason it's not heavily promoted, but hotel offers a package which includes room, breakfast and 2 adult admission to Okefenokee Swamp Park with 30 minute boat tour ($32 if purchased separately) for less than $10 more than we paid for the room by itself. No discount on park admission for the kids (as well as extra hotel tax if you buy these tickets at H.I.), but there is a $3 coupon on the okeswamp website. Friendly hotel staff gave me website info., & answered questions while I was logged on to the site at the free computer terminal next to checkin desk. Room was large and clean with extra firm mattresses. Next to busy street, but rooms by pool were quiet. Comfortable stay, & good value. Would recommend this one. Tired or just lazy, but we ate dinner & breakfast at the restaurant. Both meals were dreadful--hot buffet overcooked to point of being nearly inedible,stale cereal & milk 2 days past its expiration date. (Good alternatives: a familiar buffet chain plus fast food & groceries along same strip.)
