“Weekend Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My husband I just returned from a weekend getaway at Tybee Island Inn. We loved it! Kathy our hostess was kind and generous. If you stay, ask her to make the oven-baked pancakes for breakfast, YUM! It's a quaint little Inn very near the beach. We stayed in the Lighthouse room on the 2nd floor. It was a little stuffy at times but we had a balcony with a screen door that we left open most of the time and it made the temperature perfect! We enjoyed sitting on the swing on the front porch in the mornings and playing cards under the gazebo at night! It was quiet! Yes, the Inn is very near 2 nursing homes, but you don't see them and you really don't think even about it. I have no idea why it was an issue for some.

The town itself is quite lovely. On our 2nd night we had dinner at the Sundae Cafe (fortunately for us Kathy mentioned we'd need reservations and we followed her advice!). I was thrown a bit by the outside appearance, but don't let that keep you from trying it! It will be at the top of my list when we return!

Overall it was truly a nice visit. No one seems to be in a big hurry and folks recognize the value of kindness to tourists. And if you are in the mood for some more vivacious fun, Savannah is about 20 minutes up the road!

We will return!

Room Tip: Beware that there are a few rooms that you have to traverse stairs for the restrooms... at least one...

“The Place to be in Tybee!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights after signing up for a discounted Groupon deal, and we were not disappointed. The B&B is delightful, perfectly situated for exploring Tybee Island, and just 20 minutes from the historic downtown of Savannah. Our room was quirky but comfortable, very clean and very quiet, except for a Rooster who lives nearby and gave us our wake-up call both mornings! Kathy is an exceptional Manager/Landlady/Chief Cook and Bottlewasher who went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts where we sat down together with the other guests and proved that the art of conversation is not dead!

“Charming Southern B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

My two sisters and I stayed here last weekend for two nights. I am not usually a fan of B&B's, but this one changed my mind. Our hostess, Kathy was so nice and very helpful with anything that we needed. The inn is in a very old home and each room is different. I was able to see most of them. I believe that we got the best room for us - the Savannah Beach. Kathy is a great cook and the breakfasts were wonderful - and not too filling which I enjoyed. She also made great snacks each afternoon, cake, cookies and pastries. We spent a very fun day in Savannah, (not far away) and then walked down to the beach - just a few minutes from the inn. The beach is beautiful, but was pretty cold that day. We want to come back in warmer weather and probably will request the same room.
I almost forgot one thing. I always wake up early anyway, but there was a rooster crowing outside the window each morning. I can't believe my sisters slept through it! I was laughing.
Thanks for a great weekend at Tybee Island. We will come back again.

Room Tip: We were on the main floor - no spiral staircases like other rooms - had outside entrance to back por...

“Charming inn with wonderful host”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

My sisters and I spent a couple of winter nights at this historic property. The innkeeper was friendly and made us feel comfortable from the beginning. Our room was spacious and charming, with access to a back porch with rocking chairs. The breakfasts were amazing, and extra treats, coffee and tea were always available. The property has beautiful gardens with massive oak trees and many seating areas for guests. The beach was a short 4 minute walk away, and would have been fabulous if the weather had cooperated. This B&B pays attention to all of the little details that make guests feel comfortable. We hope to visit again when the weather is better.

“A Great Hidden Spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

My wife and I took a weekend trip to Savannah with her parents and we loved the place. It is a beautiful house with an amazing front porch area with lots of seating and a beautiful view. It's 100% through and through bed and breakfast: prepared breakfast, coffee whenever you want, old-fashioned, etc. The owners were extremely nice and a great help with directions and suggestions for things to see. It's just a 5 minute walk to the beach. Sadly, the house is very much still a house with no thermostats in the room or installed window units. Luckily, we visited on a cool weekend but still got pretty warm at times (especially when everyone was showering and getting ready!). All in all, the place was great!
