“Charming trip into the past”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We stayed here for one night in January 2012 and were pleased with this inn and its owners. The woodwork inside is extraordinary and the whole house is true to the era. We stayed in the Elizabeth, which is the largest room. It could use some refurbishing, but was clean and very comfortable. It has only one large window, so is not a bright room, but is very much a characteristic victorian space. The owner, Ron, was most accommodating and very knowledgable about the home's history. His wife, Elizabeth, cooked a delightful gourmet breakfast which was served on china and with silver. Quite a change from home!

Room Tip: The rooms on the front of the house are brighter.

“A great place to 'visit the past'!”

Many items are original to the house, so if you are looking for nostaligia then you will enjoy! The character of the house is reminiscent of the era. The architect was my great-grandfather, E. Levi Prater, who has several buildings on the National Register for Historic Places. Be sure to notice the 'curved' glass windows while there! I was actually there in 2006, but the 'travel date' selection did not offer that date for choice.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Elizabeth Room! Nice sitting area.

“Attention to detail as never before”

Do you ever think that you were born too late, that you would have liked to live around the turn of the century? You can do that and still have free Wifi. The Simmons Bond Inn is probably one of the finest we have stayed in ( and there have been a few). The entire house is elegant and filled with real antiques. The breakfast is superb and served on china. You get to cut your crepe with fine silver and drink your coffee from fine china cups as well. The couple who own the inn are truly professional but treat you in an everyday, friendly way. You will not be disappointed in the time you spend there. Lots of local things to see...ask the innkeepers.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are great

“Comfortable Historic B & B”

Simmons bond is very historic house and the inn keeper gives a nice talk on the history for the breakfast guest that want to go on a brief house tour.
The breakfast was really wonderful! They seem to feature breakfast items that are not found elsewhere and prepared by a gourmet chef.
The B & B does have a parlor for use by the guests. The location is great..right on the square across from the courthouse and within a short walk to local restaurants and shops.
I had gone on a solo trip but would definitely stay there again with my wife in the future.

Room Tip: I saw three of the rooms and they all seemed very nice. Some are bigger that others. One is almost l...

We stayed for two nights in the Colleen and it was lovely. Breakfasts were tasty and it was good to meet the other guests. The second morning we received a tour of the house and learned a lot about its history in Taccoa. While in the area we visited the falls, Tallulah gorge, and Traveler's rest.
