“What Happened to Southern Hospitality?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2007

A friend and I spent four nights at this B&B and were disappointed in the house and in the hospitality.

The house is quaint and fun to look at, but it's located on Main St. in Swainsboro, which makes it very noisy since the street noise is very loud. If you need a quiet place to sleep, this place is not it.

In addition, our hostess never once cracked a smile or acted as if she was glad to have our business. We felt as if we were an imposition. All we did was eat breakfast and sleep at this B&B - we were tied up with a nearby event all day each day. We never got a "come back again" or any indication whatsoever that our business would be welcome again. Both my friend and I have reason to return to Swainsboro at least a couple of times each year, but we will not look to stay at the Coleman House Inn again.

The B&B is clean and the rooms are nice and accommodating, but the noise and lack of hospitality keep the Coleman House Inn from being a really nice place to stay.

  • Liked — The house's overall appearance.
  • Disliked — The noise.

“A pleasant week away”

I recently spent the best part of a week at the Coleman House Inn and it was really a pleasant experience. The house is a spectacular building (if you're into that kind of thing) and the owners are pleasant to be with. The atmosphere is comfy and relaxed and a great place to come "home" to after a long day. I really enjoyed the gardens around the house and actually did a little work on them while I was there. Maybe not your cup of tea, but I find it quite relaxing. The room I stayed in is nicely restored and has so much more character and charm than a typical hotel/motel there is just no comparison. The whole experience made a long week away almost like a vacation. Highly recommended.
