We stayed here for a week in April 2011.I love the location and how clean everything is.I wish the room was bigger but i was happy overall.I wish the wifi was working as it should but that wasn't the case. The hotel was remodeling there first floor and i didn't mind at all.I like how easy it is to get to places.I'm not a very hard person to please so this got the job done.
I noticed while driving up to the hotel from the road that the exterior was very clean. The concierge was very personable and helfpul and handed my spouse, who is the reason we are here on business, a cold bottle of water. The lobby looked nice with the average homey elegance I would expect from a Holiday Inn. I noticed the fitness center off of the lobby and it had an eliptical and treadmill through the window. I didn't go in and see what all was there. There is a fireplace opposite the entry way doors to the lobby from the motorcade area at the front. The room where breakfast is served is spacious with nice tables and padded upholstered chairs including a fireplace and seating area with several around the fireplace and a large flat-screen TV hung above them.
There are four floors. I was a little annoyed I had to go down to the 2nd floor to get ice because there wasn't one on the 3rd floor by the elevators - just a snack machine.
The room was nice and clean. I did notice they needed to wipe down the bottom several inches of the inside of the bathroom door and along the foot moulding around the tub/shower, as well as along the bottom exterior of the tub, but otherwise the bathroom was spotless and smelled clean. We had a mini-fridge and small microwave in the room as well.
The desk in the room had an ethernet cable, but also free wifi. The room had an easy chair and ottoman, and the king-size bed was very comfortable. The closet is not enclosed, but had hangars and a voucher if any dry cleaning, etc. was needed. The window had sun blocking curtains, along with sheers and side drapes.
The location is pretty convenient with a Starbucks closeby if you turn right out of the entrance and take a left at the light. It's also not very far from a Peruvian/Cuban fusion restaurant we went to called Sazon Cuban Peruvian Grill on 10970 A State Bridge Rd. We went there because they're listed on restaurant.com and with a special coupon code I was able to get a $25 certificate for $3. Their website has a coupon for a gree sangria.
The concierge was very helpful and let me know where the best mall in the area - Mall of Georgia - is which evidently includes some great stores and an IMAX movie theater.
A great benefit of this hotel, although not as exciting as the high rises in downtown Atlanta is that it is situated back off of the road and is quiet. It's right off of 141 next to a Zaxby's and about 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta. We stayed here because it's just down the road from where my spouse was working on business.
That reminds me that there was a small room off of the lobby with a desktop computer and printer/copier.
Currently only service animals are allowed.
Our room was lit with compact flourescent bulbs which were harsh and unpleasant to read, watch tv or work under. Bathroom also had harsh cf lighting and an exhaust fan so loud you could hear it in the hallway. Bed was so hard it crunched when you laid down on it!. Did not enjoy our stay and would not recommend this hotel. There are plenty of others in the area to choose from.
I booked a suite that was supposed to have 2 queens and sleeper sofa as we had three ladies. When we arrived, the room only had two queens. It was a suite, but only had a chair where the sofa should have been We returned to the front desk and Eric took great care of us! He was apologetic and gave us an additional room directly across the hall at no charge. We saw him off and on throughout the night and he inquired each time to make sure we were okay with the arrangements. The only reason I gave location a "4" was because construction was going on outside the hotel which made it somewhat difficult to get in and out, but that is of no fault to the hotel.
