We chose this hotel based on the most recent reviews at this very site... Either our standards are just higher than the folks who left the good reviews, or we were at this hotel on a REALLY off-week.

First of all the best part: The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. :) The motel is also directly across from a Wal Mart Super Center where gas was $2.78 a gallon! :) The Texaco down the road had their gas at $3.09 a gallon. Don't take Wal Mart gas for granted. hehe

As for the rest of our experience... Our room (131) was a smoking room. As a smoker I'm very used to smelling stale cigarettes. However, the room, upon first opening the door, absolutely stunk. It was horrible. After leaving the door open a few minutes and running the air, we managed to air it out a little, but it never did get rid of the smell entirely.

The beds were clean but very uncomfortable. The bathroom had crud buildups in the corners and holes in the door, but the shower itself was perfect. It was tall enough (I'm almost 6 feet tall and hate having to scrunch down to shower like most other motels) and had a nice, powerful spray. It felt great.

The carpet was cleaned, but obviously patched in places and fraying at the entrance to the room. The fridge worked but the microwave was from probably 20 years ago. lol It barely did it's job.

The Pool was ok, but should have been skimmed daily to remove the bugs and leaves. It wasn't horrible, but there were some things floating around that, ideally, should not have been.

As for the breakfast they offer... They had corn flakes or rice crispies, some icky danish things, or english muffins and frozen waffles. Those were the choices. No fresh fruit at all. It was VERY lacking in comparison with any other hotel I've ever stayed at.

Another really maddening issue was that there were 2 snack vending machines and one soda machine. The sodas were $1 each and the machine needed refilling badly. As for the snack machines, one machine was completely empty and the other had 3 choices left in it before it too would be completely empty.

In conclusion, we stayed here based on the recent, positive reviews that this hotel received. We were badly mislead. If you are going to the Atlanta area, my advice to you is to find a different motel.

I stopped at the Super 8 on my way to Florida and was actually surprised at how clean it was. I stay at Super 8's once in a while because the price is low, but I am not usually happy with the hotel itself. I was quite pleased to find a good rate and a nice room. I had a microwave and a fridge, a clean room, and Stephanie and Betty Jo at the front desk were really good people. They told me about so much to do around their area that I actually plan to come back to visit the town.

I read the reviews on here, but I don't get it. I just stayed at this motel on my way home from Tennessee and I was pleasantly pleased. They have new upgrades in the bathroom, the furniture is nice, and there is even border wall paper. Ha! At a Super 8! If I were coming back this way, I would stay at this motel again.

My wife and I checked into the Super 8 Motel just off I75 in Stockbridge, Georgia as we were done in from traveling for the day and it was close to the freeway.

The lobby was horribly dirty, and the fixtures appeared to be at least 45 years old.

Once we got to our room it got worse. The room had not been redone since the motel was new apparently. The mattresses were stained, reeked of urine, and the unit was filthy. Disgusting is a kind thing to say about the motel.

I went up to the front desk and advised that I could not stay in the Motel for the previous reasons. The lady at the desk said she could not dismiss the charges on my credit card and would have to call her "boss". A PETE PATEL came to the desk and after hearing about my complaints returned my signed charge card and receipt for 66.08.

Stay away from this horrid motel.
