I spent 10 nights at the Suburban Extended Stay in Stockbridge and was satisfied during my stay.
I had made my reservation online at choicehotels.com and when I checked in, the guy at the front desk couldn't find my reservation number. He finally found it - seems they changed my number. Anyway, he gave me a bigger room than I had expected.
I had booked a non-smoking room, but there was some smell of smoke in the air. Didn't really bother me though, although I'm pretty sensitive to the smell of smoke ;-).
Mattress and sheets were clean, great towels - everything clean. No mildew in the bathroom or shower, A/C was working great as well as the TV. The microwave didn't work properly though and I had to plug in the fridge when I arrived. The glasses I found in the kitchen were dirty.
Other than that, everything was clean and fine. I never recognized any bad smell coming from the A/C.
Room service only shows up once a week. Sure - as it is an extended stay motel. I wasn't really satisfied with the room service. They changed the sheets and towels, but they didn't vacuum-clean my room (had left some crumbs on the floor in the morning just to see if it will get cleaned and they were lying there OBVIOUSLY, but seems like no one saw a need to remove them).
If you want any new towels or toilet paper all you have to do is go to the front desk and they will hand you everything you need. But remember the fact that there is only someone at the desk from 7AM-11PM.
The location itsself was very safe and calm. I felt very safe, didn't have any problem to fall asleep. Most of the other guests were families with children.
The Wal-Mart is just around the corner and you have many choices to eat right there in Stockbridge.
Considering that you only pay $27/night (without taxes and extended rate), I would always consider staying there again. If that means for me to have to clean some stuff myself - no problem with that! ;-)
The room even has a window that you can open and there is a mosquito net for insect protection in front of the window.
I found two very small baby roaches in my room during the first two days and when I had killed them, I've never seen any again.
Room service upset me a little at the day of my check-out. Check-out time is 12 PM and I was still in my room aruond 10:30, brushing my teeth and the lady knocked at my door and I yelled that I'm not ready yet and won't check out until 12. She opened the door ANYWAY and the deadbolt kept her from walking into my room. She didn't even say sorry and I don't see why she didn't hear me...
Check-out was a great experience.
I will definitely return - can't find a cheaper motel. You get what you pay for, right? ;-)
