“Fantastic resort!!!”

This is by far one of the best resorts we have ever been to. We stayed in the lodge..which was private and tranquil. The beach was private...the cookies at night are a nice touch. Every person there greeeted us by name every time they saw us. The adults only pool is great as is the main beach area though much busier. The lodge is far from the rest of the resort and is a drive...but they will take you to and from at any point. Service is amazing. Spa was incredible. The attentiveness of the staff at the pool was fantastic..and the orange slices they pass out are a nice treat. The icecream shop is a treat...and all the food at the resort is great. We had several people offer to take us on a tour and the manager offered to reserve a seat at the pool for us while we walked the beach. Nothing negative about this place!!

Room Tip: We highly recommend the lodge...it's away from the main resort but close enough to use the pool...

“in the lap of luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

This is one of the most pleasant and comfortable places I have ever been to. It may be good for children, but for us the pool reserved for the over 18's was an even more welcome feature. Also the room - or suite, or apartment - had a very nice view over the ocean and the pool, with a generous corner terrace. It does not come cheap, which is to be expected. However, the need to constantly carry wads of dollar bills to be able to tip absolutely every person from the resort you came in contact with was a bit tiresome, even if the amount is negligible related to the total price of the stay. That said, the service is without flaw and the staff extremely attentive - to the extent of ending telephone coversations with a "call you back" when you approach them.

Room Tip: An ocean view room is well worth the rather small extra price

“If there is a place called "Heaven On Earth" this is it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This resort is one of the East coast's best kept secret. Sandy beaches, and some of the best landscapes north of Floidal Sea Island is the place to escape with your family and reconnect. With gobs of activities for the kids, (horseback riding, skeet shooting, deep sea fishing, cruising, kayaking, etc.) Sea Island blends quality, relaxation, value and tradition in a way that no other resort can deliver.

If you want a luxury hotel with 5 Diamond award dining, The Cloister delivers. If you want relaxation in a casual oceanfront atmosphere, the Beach Club delivers. The Lodge delivers a completely different feel, with old Georgia charm and one of the best Steakhouses in Georgia. It also offers 2 magnificent golf courses (one of which offers Ocean vistas and provides the best PGA golfers with a challenge).

All in all, the blend of diverse luxury offerings make it our family's destination at least twice a year. Sea Island is the place to be.

Room Tip: In the Cloister, the marsh front rooms are fabulous. Breakfast on the balcony is just amazing. Best...

“Fabulous Family Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

We stayed here with our extended family (3 generations) in 5 bedroom cottage and had amazing time. The combination of the privacy of the cottage w/ private pool and the ability to use all the resort facilities was great. We've travelled all over the world and would come back to Sea Island (& this cottage) in a heartbeat. Though Sea Island is expensive, especially the activities/resort food, we felt it was a great value when you factored in food (we cooked in the cottage mainly) and the number of people. The Plantation Dinner, while expensive, was a really nice event.

“We return year after year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2011

Hands down the best resort for families. Wonderful children's programs and just a great place to vacation. Be prepared for the preppy clientele but everyone is warm and welcoming.
