“Poor choice”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Staying here for Thanksgiving week. Room not made up on holiday. Complained to desk, told , no maids available on holiday. Didn't I pay for that service in my room charge?Offered a new room, but who wants to change rooms at 10 at night? Agree with chemical smell. All over hotel. Needs a good freshening up.Damaged paint, water stains, etc. Rear door to parking lot, supposed to lock with key card entry- Would not lock , open to anyone who walked up.

“eh....ok. not really poor aka 2 star. but not 3 either.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

sheets were worn thread bare. bedspread was stained on the under side. mattress hard on each double, (there were 2 of us, one on ea. bed), tv outdated but worked, batteries low, carpet clean, furniture outdated, "breakfast" were choices of cereal, milk, instant oatmeal, average bagel, muffins & donuts that i didn't try, coffee in hallway wasn't in the the breakfast area, nice looking common room with modern tv. I noticed that the "star days inn rating" was 5.....don't think that was correct.
Like I mentioned, not a bad place at all, good area of town, but---just below average. I would have given it a better rating if it weren't for the sheets & bed spread in room 207. (housekeeping take note)
On the NICE SIDE...the room smelled lovely & clean, like fragrant soap when walking in. nice!

Room Tip: llok for the amenities....like is there coffee in the room!

“Very subpar hotel experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

I am keeping in mind that it is a Days Inn, and in Rome, Georgia, and I only paid approx. $85 to stay there. That being said, it is still very low quality.

I will describe our experience chronologically. Our check in took a very long time because the lady at the front desk answered her cell phone while checking us in and talked the whole time. She also discussed her love of the Pittsburgh Steelers at length with the couple checking in front of us.

Our room was just unpleasant. The smell from the cleaning agents induced headaches. The appliances looked very old and potentially broken. The towels had hairs on them. The bathroom door was missing a lock. It wasn't so bad that we couldn't sleep there, but it was just very below average.

The next morning, the "breakfast" was really coffee that had been sitting out since the previous night (as the pots were in the exact same position I had left them when I got coffee at about 1:30am the previous night), along with some cold bread and cereal.

There are much better hotels in Rome to stay at and for only a little more money. This is not worth the $15 you'll save.

“Cleaning vapors through out causes allergies to flare”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

The Rome ,Georgia Days Inn had a smell through out the building of a strong cleaner or spray to cover up real smells. Our room had such a strong smell that my allergies were raging. The paint on the walls, and carpet need to be redone. The baseboards in the bath had not been cleaned in some time. The chairs through the building (lobby , breakfast area) need new fabric and padding. The rates did not reflect the overall poor condition.

Room Tip: If you have allergies or asthma, do not use this hotel.
