From the moment we stepped inside this most elegant mansion we felt transported to another era, one of pure elegance , grace and refinement. On entering the lovely foyer a grand staircase leads to perfectly and beautifully appointed "chambers". Ours was a magnificent room with fireplace and a grand king sized canopy bed, so comfortable and exquisitely dressed with a marvelous bed cover and linens as fine as I have ever seen. Everywhere throughout the room were charming touches ... books at the bedside, lace gloves on the mantle a gorgeous oriental rug on the polished hardwood floor. A door led to the comfortable bathroom, complete with clawfoot tub and windows covered with emerald green drapes...perhaps the kind used by Scarlett to make her dress in Gone With The Wind. Arriving during the Christmas season brought a most unexpected and perfectly delightful surprise... a stunningly beautiful Christmas tree decorated in period onnaments with sparkling lights in our bedroom !
Lest I fail to to mention the other decorations throughout the house, including a parlor adorned with its own enormous Christmas tree and grand dining room complete with a lovely crystal chandelier . With the feeling of being a welcomed and honored guest, Chris the host and owner treated us royally during our stay and in the morning presented a meal that was delicious and beautifully plated on the homes fine china. This experience was surely for us a Christmas dream come true!
