We had a large dog and approached the motel with intention of using a room saver road cupon for $49 for a one night stop but the room shown to us was not suitable and we were offered a chance to upgrade to the suite, which was $79 after all fees/taxes. Very spacious, french doors separated the large area with microwave/kitchen sink, couch, etc from the bedroom/desk TV area...sheets were clean and crisp with slight odor of bleach (no complaints there!)...very comfortable and would stay again. Took us 15 min or so to get to historic Savannah from motel location. No pet fees at all and my german shepherd was made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff.

i have been staying in this hotel with my husband and son for a few months now and its just getting worse. the staff is very friendly but maybe some are too friendly. they are always touching my 1 year olds face and hands when they see him in the hall and they are cleaning the rooms with no gloves on. i want to say something but i don't want to be rude but its getting very hard not to. we have to go out of the way just to ignore them and end up on the other end of the hotel so they don't see him. and its kind of weird when the owner asks my little boy if he wants to come up to his room, is he some kind of sicko. i also put the do not disturb sign out on the door but yet the housekeepers still knock everyday and i think they knock because they want to see my son. my husband has a motorcycle so he asked if he could park it under the roof where 2 other bikes had been parking but they told him that they aren't supposed to park under there and they are going to ask those guys not to park there so for about a week or 2 they weren't there but now there are 2 more bikes parking there again. we stay here for my husbands work and they pay for the room so its not that easy to just get another hotel or we would but i suggest that if you are looking for a room go to 1 of the other hotels around here. my husbands co workers are also unhappy here they hardly ever get there rooms cleaned and they go to the front desk to ask what the problem is and 1 lady always gives them a hard time..they have also complained about bed bugs, i have never had that experience but they have woke up with bites on their legs and arms..?? they don't clean my room everyday because i don't let them in because i hide out with my son from them but usually once every week or even 2 weeks i'll ask them to clean the whole room and they usually say today is only garbage and towels day for your room. and lately they have been testing the fire alarm and its a random thing so you don't know whether to ignore it or run for Your life its so loud its just becoming irritating. i wish they would post the time and day of the week they plan on doing the test. i just want out of this hotel.. today my son and i were napping to wake up to people banging on the door.. it was the housekeepers, but yet i have the do not disturb sign out.. so i went back to lay down after they left to only have to get back up to some man banging on the door. i opened the door and he said "YOU NEED TO GO TO THE FRONT DESK NOW, BECAUSE NO ONE IS REGISTERED TO THIS ROOM". we've been in this room for a week and a half.. so i called the desk for her to ask me if there is a problem?? yeah people bangin on my door, and she said "well some people from your job checked out" and i replied yes some of them did but i told you the other day we are not checking out until saturday so when we leave we will let you know!!! i just can't wait to leave saturday!! bad thing is we are goin to another red roof inn, this time in kentucky!! oh and the fitness center is just a little room with a few machines, the internet doesn't always work, and the pool is clean maybe 2 weeks out of the month..

This place is a DUMP!! They put me in not one, but TWO rooms that had malfunctioning toilets. The phone in my room also did not work, and part of the shower plate in the bathroom was missing. The hallways carpets were also stained When I complained about having backed up toilets to the manager on duty he cursed at me, so I checked out and went down the road to the Hampton Inn and Suites.

This Red Roof is relatively new.. with indoor corridors and an elevator. We have stayed several times on our trips from FL to NY. Our latest stop on May 5, 2009 will be our last. This used to be a nice well kept property that we recommeded to others. No Longer. It was not very crowded but the room we were given was just FILTHY. Carpet, tabletops, headboard - all dirty. Bathroom door was so warped it would not come close to closing. I cleaned every hard surface with lysol wipes and we slept on our own pillows. Reserved a smoking room - this one had a no smoking sign - but smelled like it had not been aired out for weeks... If not for the arriving in a heavy thunder storm - we would have continued on to somewhere else for the night. Plus @ $75 it was the highest price we have ever paid at this property at this time of year. Can only suspect new ownership or new management.
