As a lifelong southerner, the Chipley Murrah House is the kind of place you wish all non-southerners would stay so they would know the uniqueness of southern hospitality. Paul & Donna have created a Bed & Breakfast experience that leaves nothing but a good taste in your mouth. My wife and I wanted to see the Fantasy in Lights extravaganza at Calloway Gardens during the Christmas holidays. We arrived on a Monday afternoon and immediately met our two hosts. When we left for the light show, they gave us blankets (it was cold) to help keep us warm. We stayed in the Governor's Suite. It featured a king-sized four poster bed, sitting area, flat screen tv, DVD player, Santa Claus checkerboard, antique armoire, large bathroom divided into two rooms with a clawfoot tub with shower. The breakfast as prepared by Donna was different each day, but always featured fresh fruit, eggs and some kind of french toast that was awesome. They directed us to two great places for dinner, Aspen Grill and Carriage & Horses (see our review of this winner). In short, I can't imagine what more they could have done to make our stay one of the best times we have ever experienced. I forgot to mention that our room had its own private entrance, but frankly we didn't use it much because we got to talk with Paul and Donna by going out the main part of the house. This place is an absolutely unmatched bed and breakfast experience.
