“Do not stay here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2009

I stayed here for several days in late April. The hotel is now a Rodeway Inn and a portion of it has been demolished. It is clear that the hotel owner is just taking money and not keeping the property up. It was dirty and depressing. The property used to be beautiful - but not anymore. It is now overgrown. From the signage on the property, they are selling off pieces. It is apparent that the property will be demolished at some point and a new hotel built.

“Southern charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2008

We first discovered this place last year on our way to Florida.
I understand this place has undergone a complete renovation in recent years. Consequently, I would recommend anyone ignore the reviews prior to 2007.
This is a unique lodging destination, as the main office building looks like an old southern mansion and the floor level rooms are laid out like townhouses on sprawling grounds.
The rooms are very roomy and well equiipped with every amenity, such as fridge, microwave, ironing board & iron and coffee maker.
The place is extremely clean and well kept and feels very homey.
You will love to stroll through the beautifull 13 acres of landscaped gardens that adjoin.
Since they accomodate smokers and pet owners, be sure to ask for non-smoking and/or pet free rooms if it's an issue.
Great old style charm and courteous and friendly staff, make this a no-brainer on our I-75 itinerary.
Few places like this exist these days.

“Southern Charm for sure”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2008

This hotel is an older hotel per the bathrooms...(old fixtures), but the rooms are up to date. This is a one level, more like a townhome type of property rather than hotel type. Beautiful property, looks like an old southern cotton plantation, that was made into a hotel. I would definately stay here again, as long as property owner keeps it up. Not American owned. The pool has been filled in with dirt and is grown up with weeds in the courtyard.....unfortunately because the courtyard in itself is just beautiful, peaceful and serene.Old oaks and pines surround the property and you actually feel like youre in your own little "HOME". Highly recommened as long as its kept up. VERY PET FREINDLY FOR YOU PET OWNERS!!!! MUCH GRASS FOR PETS TO EXPLORE!!!!!

  • Disliked — The pool was not there anymore:(

“Would stay here again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2008

We stayed here for the Paso Fino Grand National Championship show. I used this site for advice prior to booking the room.
It is a unique motel, older, so expect perhaps a slow drain, or a toilet that you have to flush more than once. The beds were very comfortable, nice comforters, the room was clean when we arrived and was cleaned daily. The facility is pet friendly and the setup is great for those with pets. The room we had (124) opened out onto a large garden type lawn on one side and the parking lot on the other. The lawn was great for the early morning "potty" walk, right out the door, no stairs or elevators.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was average.
We would definitely stay here again.

“Most comfortable beds ever!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2008

The hotel is right off the highway, which unfortunately means that at truckers park their trucks there over night. The beds were very comfortable, one of the most comfortable I have had in a hotel less than $100 a night. They had down comforters and a pillow top that was amazing. The staff were nice, the breakfast was very weak. I will stay there if I'm back in Perry.
