While I first considered myself lucky at finding these accommodations on such short notice at such an affordable price during a very busy Fourth of July weekend in Atlanta, I cannot begin to tell you how much grief my short stay there has caused me. After sleeping in the bed there, I woke up with two small bumps on my leg. I did not think anything of it at the time, but after travelling back home, I was bitten several more times. Basically, I have since figured out that Horizon Inn & Suites had beg bugs, and I transported them to my place when I unwittingly placed my luggage on the bed there. Taking back even a few bed bugs has now led to a full-on infestation at my home.

I now know more than I ever will about bed bugs and the difficulty in ridding them from beds, carpets and surrounding nooks and crevices, so I sympathize with management's dilemma. However, it is unacceptable to me that I was not forewarned about this by hotel staff. One night with a few bites is manageable, but unsuspectingly carrying them back with me has created a whole new host of problems--unacceptable.

I stayed at this location for 4 nights for the price I payed it was a decent stay. It is very close to downtown Atlanta and other attractions. The rooms are clean and have a nice feel to them and the parking lot is will lit. The continental breakfast on the other hand is not that grate but mcdonalds is right next door so that makes up for this. The staff that I met was the lady that works the morning and she was very rude to a guest that came and ask for an extra towel she always look to be in a bad mood when I saw her. The young man that worked overnights was very respectful and helpful even when I went to the lobby at 3 a.m some nights for coffee he always smiled and ask if I needed help. Overall not the best hotel but not the the worst and the price is right definitely would stay here again.

I had reserved 14 rooms and all were guaranteed with my american express card and the hotel also faxed me the confirmation on 6/12/2007 for the two weeks stay. However, the hotel management got greedy upon lerning that the hotel is going to be full due to an event in the area, they bump the comfirmed rate to $70.00 a night ultimately to drive me away. I have confirmation for your reference 40624-RM. I think this hotel should not be trusted at all. This type of mind sets can be dangerous to guest.

On memorial day weekend my husband, his mother and our daughter all decided to go to Stone Mountain with his cousin and his family. They booked us a room at the LaQuinta Inn Jimmy Carter. Upon our arrival we had three rooms booked after checking in we went to the assigned rooms and found one of them had not been cleaned. We then had to get a new room. The one my husband and I stayed in had a dirty coffee pot still in it and all the supplies were not restocked. Although there were resturants and stores close by to get snack at I thought they were supposed to keep the lobby accesible to their customers. I being on the 3rd floor could not find an open door to the lobby. Sometimes people just don't want to have to go out of their hotel in the middle of the night. But we had to.

Although the trip was very exciting, I think the next time we go up to Stone Mountain, we will stay somewhere else. Oh I forgot to mentioned that they forgot to reprogram our keys, my husband and I got locked out and had to get new keys. I would think twice before staying here if your planning a trip using this Inn.
