Our 1st B & B stay. 27th anniversary - wonderful romantic getaway! Very reasonably priced. African-themed Carriage House with soothing and educational books, movies and music about Africa and more. The ornate garden welcomed us outside our door to and from our meals. The meals were beyond exquisite, with our likes/dislikes kept in mind but with an element of mystery which created an even more enticing and romantic atmosphere! The decor of the main house and other bedrooms were all totally unique and kept within the enchanting Historic style. Right down to the lit candles, (did they light themselves?) after our dinner, and our heavenly breakfast of souffle', rich bran muffins and fruit, no detail was left below perfection. We were also priveleged to meet some local townspeople during breakfast who enlightened us on the town's history and gave us a museum tour. This place is a golden nugget! Adele is an extraordinarily gifted host and chef! If the economy permits this lovely place to remain the historic landmark that it is, we will return many times in the future!

Room Tip: Carriage house is more private and nestled in the garden area

I recently had some business to attend to in Oglethorpe, GA and was referred by good friends to Traveler's Rest Bed & Breakfast. We were met by the very gracious and hospitable owner Adele who took excellent care of us. The Inn is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean and very comfortable. We were met in the morning with an excellent breakfast in the morning and an incredible hostess in Adele. I would highly recommend this B&B if you are in the area.

We stay with Adele and her very special "Traveler's Rest" every chance we get on our travels to South Georgia--memories made even more precious because this is not a "chain" or large commercial enterprise but one extremely talented innkeeper with a true understanding, and heart for serving up wonderful memories. My family and I treasures our stays at this genuinely lovely oasis.

“Birthday Getaway”

I took my wife to the Traveler's Rest B&B as a surprise overnight getaway for her birthday. We had a wonder time. Adele was a great host, the room (the Carriage House) was very comfortable & cozy and the food was terrific. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend this B&B to everyone!!!
