“drive a little further”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

folks, this place is in the middle of nowhere off I16...we were traveling back from the coast....not familiar with I16...scary, no motels, no gas...the state should warn folks to check their tanks before driving....anyway we rolled into Metter...first exit with a motel and the Days Inn was prominent...usually an OK chain with reasonable rates...this place is $100 bucks for two adults. They have you...either you commit to drive another hour to Dublin or pay them....I would have driven the hour but it was after 8 PM and we needed to get off the road...motel is OK, channel changer didn't work and coffee maker broken...typical stuff....the mexican restaurant across the street was a treat...good food and good folks...if you can, bypass the Metter area for lodging..plan your trip in advance and don't just drop in...$100 bucks for a sleeping room in the middle of nowhere is a real ripoff

“Needs renovation!”

We have been staying here since 1997 and the place is getting old. The exterior rooms are so 90's. Our room had a large hole in the wall and wires hanging where ther shoal have been a smoke detector. If u have to stay in Metter, stay here, but if you can go to Dublin or Statesboro for a better selection of nicer hotels.

“Just okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2010

Okay hotel. The room was clean. The breakfast was adequate. The staff were pleasant. It was close to the highway. This hotel has exterior hallways which I guess I didn't expect at a HI Express. I feel less safe with those. If that doesn't bother you then this hotel is fine...maybe not great, but okay.

“The asprin to my headache!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2009

My road trip to Metter was for a friends funeral. It was to be a 6 hour drive and turned into a 8.5 hour drive in the dark on small roads. The lobby was clean, fresh and well designed. The person at front desk was efficient. The room was clean, very clean. The design and layout was nice - i was truly surprised. Who knew a roadside place would be nice. My room was near the lobby, upstairs as I had mentioned i was alone and not used to traveling at night. They took under consideration that me being nearer the lobby would make me feel safer. At no time did i feel unsafe. Also even though i am a light sleeper - I slept so well and rested so well that i actually considered staying an extra day just for the rest. When i checked out the lady was super sweet and smiled and was honestly pleased to be helping me.

“Overpriced Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2009

Although the Holiday Inn is the better hotel in the area, they are so overpriced. The bathrooms are very small; the queen sized bedrooms and the one bedroom suite are small as well . The one bedroom suite has two TVs in the rooms (one in bedroom and one in the sitting room), a microwave and fridge. The two bedroom queen room only has a TV and a coffeemaker (no fridge, no microwave). I was so turned off and my next visit I will pay less money, get a better deal somewhere in Statesboro. Oh, did I mention that there were two bugs in my room AND the hotel has no computer for those folks who don't travel with a laptop? The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. All in all, I suggest you stay in Statesboro where there is more to see and do. NOTHING TO DO IN METTER!
