The owner/operator very graciously cancelled my reservation after speaking with a Choice Hotels Customer Service Representative. This hotel is located beside an abandoned strip mall and a bar. The bar parking lot was filled to capacity at 6 p.m. and people wandered through the hotel parking lot, between guest's cars. The temperature in the hotel office matched the outside--over 100 degrees. The one elevator has an exterior access and is located in proximity to the bar parking lot. The room was dark, yet light was visible around the entire door frame. The carpet had been vacuumed, but was sticky. Notice that Air Conditioning is not listed among the amenities. The room had an AC unit, but it had not been turned on in anticipation of occupancy of the room. The only redeeming quality was the intervention from Choice Hotels. I was booked into a hotel just six miles further along the interstate. The difference was astounding.
