“Great place if you have transportation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

I stayed here for a family reunion, but the Hampton Inn around the corner was where most of the family was booked. I got a lower rate but not the free breakfast. My room was bigger than a double at Hampton. The pool at Courtyard was indoor and looked inviting, but I can't swim. The service was great - smiles all the time. We decided to not have room service while we were there to save on sheets and towels. The beds were extremely comfortable because I woke myself up snoring. You will need a vehicle because there are many restaurants within a short DRIVING distance. And a Wal-Mart is across Thorton Rd. The area is quiet and I don't remember hearing any noise in the hall.

“After our flight from Atlanta was cancelled, this hotel was wonderful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2010

We were recently traveling through Atlanta and our connecting flight was cancelled due to problems with the airport's de-icing trucks. We grabbed a rental car and were lucky to find a hotel room as many flights were cancelled and the roads were already icing over when we got to the hotel after 9 pm. (the hotel is near Six Flags and a distance from the airport)

The desk staff was friendly and helpful, pointing us to the nearest restaurant for dinner, and the fire in the fireplace was very welcoming. Our room was clean and the beds (2 queens) very comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was the best we've ever had in a Courtyard, and I enjoyed using the computers to read favorite websites and do crossword puzzles on line. Our boys enjoyed a swim in the pool and the snow on the trees in the courtyard was beautiful.

The price (off season) was a good value and we enjoyed our stay.

“Worst Bed Ever!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2008

PROS: The hotel is VERY CLEAN. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The room was decorated very pretty. The breakfast buffet had excellent food and service! Management responded well to our comlaints. CONS: The bed was the WORST SLEEPING BED EVER!! I think I would have been better off on the floor! The toilet was hard to flush, the tub did not drain while taking a shower. The room had 3 towels and we had 4 guest. The phone by the bed was not working. The staff at night did not communicate well with my family. I WILL NOT STAY here again!!

“Good place to stay if going to Six Flags.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2008

My family recently spent 2 nights at this hotel during a stay to visit Six Flags. The hotel was clean and quiet. I felt it was a safe place to stay with my children. The room and bed was that of other Marriotts. The bed was very comfortable. There was a computer available with internet access which was nice. The only cons were that Six Flags was 1 exit away and the inside pool was cloudy. I would stay here again planning to be in this area.

“Good package deal but not a good example of Marriott perfection”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2007

This hotel was clean and had professional staff, but lacked the perfection often found at other Marriott locations (which you expect for the price). On 6/27/07 I rented a non-smoking King with sofabed under a package deal which included 4 tickets to Six Flags over Georgia and breakfast for 4.

Pros:
Good package deal for a family of 4 going to Six Flags over Georgia. Bed was extremely comfortable. Room was very clean. Staff was professional. Toilet and shower worked great.

Cons:
Hot tub and pool were closed due to "plumbing problems". Guest computer in the lobby area was not functional, a "common problem" as described by the front desk attendant. Large discoloration on the carpet floor inside the room near the closet. Hot breakfast normally costs $8 per person. Upon check in, the front desk attendant tried to talk me into 2-double beds. I'm a big guy and need a king bed. I had to say "no" three times before he dropped the topic.

  • Liked — Comfortable bed, clean room
  • Disliked — Pool/spa were closed, guest computer in lobby was not working
