I stayed one night en route from eastern Atlanta to Birmingham, and I chose this hotel primarily for its easy access from the I-20 and for its low rates. I am assuming that based on its proximity to Six Flags it is a popular (and busy) hotel for families. This fact could explain the overall wear and tear of the hotel. The sink had a hard water stain, the shower curtain was a bit dingy, paint was peeling in spots from the ceiling, the window casing could use a good caulking, etc. There was a wall controlled A-C, which actually wasn't very noisy, so it didn't affect our sleep quality. However, we thought the room smelled pretty damp, and even the carpet was a little wet. I don't know if this was just caused by high summer humidity or if the A-C condenser/evaporator wasn't working properly. If I were staying in this hotel for more than one night, I would have been bothered by the damp and the overall worn feel to the room. However, breakfast was plentiful (waffles, microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, pastries), and the price for the theme park location was very good. Also, the mattresses were comfortable, and the hotel was pretty quiet. So, for a family on a budget, this hotel is fairly priced and offers a great breakfast and a relatively comfortable stay.
