This Holiday Inn Express is in a great location, just about 25 miles north of Helen, Georgia which is a great little German town. It is south of Cherokee, NC just outside the southern entrance to Smokey Mountain National Park. I was unimpressed with the hotel itself. It needs serious updating. It is not in the same league as some of the other Holiday Inn Expresses we like to stay in, which have been updated with all things new. Other than that, the hotel had a great rate, was clean, comfortable, good breakfast and a great location off of I-76.

The beds were cozy and rooms were pretty clean. It is a bit outdated as far as the decor goes. It is what we expected for being in the mountains. Only complaint I would say is the gentleman who checked us in was not friendly. He didn't tell us about breakfast or the gym or anything just checked us in and pointed the way to the room. Coming from a customer service background, I expect a little more. The young girl in the morning was very nice and pleasant upon checkout. Would stay again if needed.

Arrived from New York to spend the weekend in Hiawassee. Was pretty pleased with the motel. The room was very clean and very refreshing. Really enjoyed my stay. The breakfast buffet could be a little better. The fruits needed to be better taken care of. They were old and some were rotten.

We just got back to Florida from staying three nights in the Holiday Inn Express in Hiawassee. Our stay was great, king bed was very nice, had a mini frig & microwave & sink area, which is very convenient. The employees were extremely helpful. The breakfast was well loaded with everything from pancakes to yogurt. The only thing I can think of that needed some improvement were that the extremely white towels were like brillo pads and they needed some softner. Great location to visit the Mountain Fair grounds, we were just down the road. We will stay again!
