My family and I stayed at this property after traveling 14 hours by car in the August heat of the Deep South. We arrived about 10:30 pm and checked in with no problems (I had called and booked the room about 5 hours prior to our arrival, and guaranteed the room with a credit card). Needless to say, we were given a room on the top floor - the rooms apparently face westward, and so they are bathed in the heat of the day. Our room was clean - however, the AC had not been turned on in advance of our arrival. When we first opened the door, it was so hot in the room that I bet you could have roasted a turkey. It took a good 3 hours of running the window AC unit before we were able to cool down the room to a comfortable sleeping temperature. Also, be aware that the pool does not "open" until about 10 or 10:30 - so, if you have kids that want to swim (like mine) - be prepared. Overall, a good rate on the room, and it was clean - however, it was not a pleasant experience.

For a budget motel this one is very good. They are rather proud of their perfect rating from the health department and have it framed near check-in. From what I saw of the room and grounds they deserved it.

There is a buzzer by the desk and you need to use it. I guess it is the small town thing as there is no one to sit at the front desk and wait for customers to walk in. That was my only issue with the place.

After paying for a Marriott internet ‘wireless’ connection that did not work it was nice to see an ISDN port in the room. It was also free! That was a very welcome site. We did not try the breakfast so I can’t speak to the quality of it.

I would easily return to this motel for the night.

Best shower head I have ever seen in a hotel in this price range (though, curiously, the faucet control was plumbed backwards). I would have mentioned this to the front desk staff / management, but unfortunately their English was a little worse than my Hindi. Very well-lit parking lot & grounds, however. Room & public areas maintained adequately, but don't bother with the paltry free breakfast (a stale glazed donought, and only powdered creamer for the coffee) - go two blocks south and three blocks east to McDonalds. Good-looking steak house adjacent to hotel, and good Mexican place one block east. While in town, go for a guided canoe tour of the Ocmulgee River.

It's a fairly new hotel and it's kept clean. I think they tend to be stingy with the towels though as most low-end hotels are doing the same. Not a lot of people travel to Hawkinsville GA so the hotel doesn't appear to get used too much. It's has free highspeed internet in everyroom so that's a plus. Just bring your Cat 5 cable, plug in your laptop and you're ready to go. I paid $59 a night over the Xmas holiday. 2 adults with taxes came to $71 bucks a night.
