“Hated it”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2009

1st let me say that i will never stay in this motel again.
After a long drive from LA a friend of ours got a room so that when we got in town we could just come in and get some sleep. Well when we got up in the morning we asked for some clean towles and the housekeeper flipped out and was saying she was going to call the police becauce we werent the people that rented the room, saying she dont play that. What ever that meant i dont know. The only thing we could figure is that she was implying that i was a hooker and my husband was my pimp. I really dont have anything good to say about the hotel, the beds were hard, never got any clean towles, the cable was fuzzy and the free internet was horrible as well.
My suggestions is stay at the best western up the road they are awesome!

“WORST HOTEL EVER~”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2008

This hotel was awful. The air didn't work and it was 92 degrees and all they could do was give us a fan. The shower when turned on had brown water comming out of it.. The shower curtain had mold on it. The bathroom floor had tons of hair on it.The refridgerator didn't work. There was no matterss pad on the bed. The manager was never "avalible" to talk to me and has yet to call me back( I left all my numbers I was so unhappy) I would not tell anyone to stay here

“Horrible stay... do not stay here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2004

According to its website this is "the only full-service hotel in Griffin." If this is full service, I would be afraid to see what other hotels in the area are like. A colleague of mine stayed here for the October 2004 Nascar race.

Problems:
1. Upon arrival, no working remote. He told the front desk and personnel immediately replaced it.
2. No ashtray in smoking room. He told the front desk and he ended up being without an ashtray for his entire stay.
3. Walked into the bathroom the first night and it was infested with ants. He told the front desk and they immediately moved him to another room.
4. In new room, left $2 tip on bed for housekeeping and when he arrived back later that night, he found that the $2 had been taken, but the room was not clean. He told the front desk and they gave him some BS excuse that they had not had a chance to finish the room (even though it was 7:00 pm). He simply requested some clean towels, of which he said were "stained" and "disgusting."
5. In new room, he ran his hand underneath the mattress to tuck sheets in and found three bags of marijuana. He immediately threw them away.
6. On the morning of his last day in Griffin, he remembered that he left his i-Pod charger in his old room. He called the hotel on the way to the track and kindly asked the front desk to check the room, as he was leaving that morning. She would not and told him he would have to wait until housekeeping got to the room. He insisted on speaking to the manager, who was "unavailable," and requested repeatedly that the woman get in touch with him. In the end, she hung up on him. After calling back numerous times, front desk did tell him that they had located his charger, but not after threatening to call police to have him arrested for harrassment, for simply requesting to speak to the manager.

I contaced the manager to request that I be refunded in full for the terrible conditions and customer service and he asked why my colleague didn't check-out and move to another hotel if he was so unhappy. Well, since it was a Nascar weekend, that would have proved to be quite difficult, as hotels sell out months in advance. (This is the kind of man I was dealing with.) I have a problem with a Manager who tells me my colleague needs to switch hotels in order to be happy and receive good customer service at a clean, comfortable hotel.

Consider yourself warned... do NOT stay here at all costs!

Nicole

i felt very unsafe at this hotel. at first i didnt mind that the room was a little smelly and not exactly CLEAN......but when i feel like my life is threatened...well lets put it this way... i will NEVER EVER stay at a hojos again. EVER EVER EVER. this was a crap hole and i had to laugh at all the "awards" in the lobby. it was dirty and smelly and garbage and laundry outside the rooms and it looked like the clientel were making illegal deals outside our rooms. disgusting. what used to be a denny's restuarant..turned into something else and closed down totaly in dec 03. the lobby didnt even have coffee in the morning. stay at the holiday inn limited instead of this crap hole! pay the extra 15 bucks!!!

“A Howard Johnson Dissapointment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2003

Oh we were very unhappy. First of all, the place was nothing like what we thought it would be. Instead of a suite, it looked more like an old renovated apartment; but we figured "now that we're here, we'll just make the most of it." But once we looked around inside the room, things got worse. I mean, cleanliness is where I draw the line. The carpet was filthy, floor, dirty; and the bathroom definitely could have been cleaned better (particularly the tub). The television remote control didn't work, the coffee pot was dirty. I was very uncomfortable in the room. Also, there was a big garbage bin outside, overflowing with garbage a few doors down from our room. But even worse, on the second day of our stay, we returned from the theme park to find that they didn't come to clean our room at all. When we went to the office to complain and request clean towels to use in the morning, they only had one set available for our family of three! I (almost 5 months pregnant, at the time) had to split the washcloth and other two towels with my husband and son. It was incredible! We never expected to stay in such a dump. We just assumed that since the place carried the Howard Johnson name that it HAD to be decent. We travel regularly - my husband travels several times throughout the year - but we have no plans of ever staying at anything with Howard Johnson's name on it again (there are too many other hotels out there to choose from!), and we are definitely warning our family, friends, and aqaintances!
