I paid a low daily rate for the rooms we had and for the price paid this motel was satisfactory. Had I paid $65 or more I would not have been equally satisfied. In a place like this cleanliness is the most important thing so here an A+ is in order. The staff did what they were suppose to do by making sure the bathroom got a once over, clean towels were provided, the beds made, trash taken out and a quick vacuuming carried out each day. There was little noise, the beds are comfortable, and the location is convenient to businesses in the area, major road access, restaurants, etc. The place may have been updated last year (per a management comment from 2008) but it can’t escape its age. The building is worn but not rundown and the same goes for the interior. One gets the clear sense that if management does not focus on keeping the place up it can quickly go down hill, as has happened with a couple of other motels in the neighborhood. We found the rooms were not equally equipped. One had a small refrigerator (very convenient once plugged in) but the others did not. One room had only a few TV channels available while others had about 30 to pick from (this was not fixed when mentioned). We also had trouble with the wireless internet access but could not get help with this. We first thought this was our problem but later discovered that was not the case. The morning breakfast is free but very poor. There are few choices and those that are available are of low quality so after the first morning we skipped their breakfast. I would recommend this place to others as long as they understand that they get what they pay for and not to pay over $65 per day. For a higher rate this motel needs further upgrading.

We came to the area for our grandaughter's wedding. The price was right for our family. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was the best, and the kids really enjoyed the pool.

This ancient former Holiday Inn was worse than any hotel I've stayed in years . . . the people were nice but that's where the positives end. The facility is very rundown, the bed was almost rock hard, the showerhead was broken and the shower water was hard to adjust. The coffee in the lobby was lukewarm and old. The treadmill in the fitness room was broken and the weight machines didn't work hardly at all. The tv remote battery cover had fallen off making it hard to use it without the batteries falling out. Isn't that enough to complain about ??

I was very disappointed in this hotel, especially after reading other positive reviews. I booked the King suite, but did not unpack in that room because the floor was filthy and there was something on the bed that looked like it might have come out of someone's nose. They were good about giving me a different room, but when I got to the room, the door was propped open by the door lock, and there was no way to turn on a light unless I walked inside the dark room. Strike two. The third room was okay, but the TV had terrible sound, so bad that I could barely understand what was said. I was given a $5 discount for the inconveniences, but that didn't seem like much. A theoretical plus to this hotel was free wireless internet, but it was not working while I was there. The hot breakfast, including service, was probably the best thing. It wasn't great, but was better than donuts for sure. I would not stay at this hotel again, which is very unfortunate, as there are not many nice places to stay in Gainesville.
