“Very comfortable, but expensive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

We've never stayed at a bed and breakfast before because they are so costly, but just
this once we splurged. It was 140 for 2 beds, but they were oh so comfy, with down comforters, and 3 pillows. The next mornings breakfast was homemade fresh. We had
fried potatoes (Am Fries) with onions in them, eggs, homemade bread, and jelly, finished off with plain yogurt topped with strawberries and granola. We never had the three served together like that, but it was yummy. If your in the area watching trains you
must stay for just one night to experience it.
The chamber of commerce lady showed me this place via a golf cart. Everyone is very friendly in Folkston. Its a small town with big hospitality.

“Enjoyed Our Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2010

We stayed at the Inn at Folkston for two nights while visiting relatives and enjoying the Swamp. The rooms were very clean and breakfasts were good. The hosts were friendly and accomodating.

“Pleasantly surprised. THE place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2010

When booking our trip to the Okefenokee Swamp I really had no idea what to expect for accommodations. My wife and I like to stay in B&Bs when we can, so I was happy to find The Inn at Folkston. Folkston is a small town and with not many other hotel options, I have to admit that I was a little nervous that The Inn was just going to be a mother-in-law apartment or just a room rented out of someone's house for supplemental income.

NOT THE CASE! The room we stayed in was large and had a jacuzzi tub which was a sweet bonus after a day of canoeing and hiking. I can honestly say it was the best bed I have ever slept on in a hotel. Even though the address is "West Main Street" the Inn is actually on a quiet street just a short walk to the Folkston Funnel and the main drag that is Folkston. We took one right turn, drove 7 miles and were at the Okefenokee entrance. Can't beat the location.

Bill and Janis were gracious hosts and made us feel right at home. They were knowledgeable about the area and gave us some tips and suggestions for venturing out into the swamp. Bill even taught us a few things about trains. Breakfast was delicious and the portions were the perfect amount.

If you are going to be in Folkston this is definitely the place to stay.

“Exceeded expectations!”

On our first trip to the South after we visited Charleston and Savannah we stopped in Folkston for 2 nights. My husband is a rail fan and he wanted to visit the Folkston Funnel. The Inn at Folkston is one of the nicest B & B's we've ever stayed at. We had the Lighthouse room which had it's own screened in porch, a very comfortable king-sized bed and a nice bath with glass block shower. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious which was good because the restaurants in the town leave much to be desired.
Wonderful spot for railfans and folks who want to visit the Okefenokee.

“Truly delightful place to stay and near entry to Swmap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 April 2009

This was our first night out and it was a great place to stay so we could get down to the entrance to the real Okefenokee Swamp with a boat trip by Okefenokee Adventures . (The "Swamp Park" near Waycross is a sorry excuse, with critters in dirty cages, and little else to draw it's many visitors, exp. kids. There may be other entrances for those with boats, etc.)

Janice and Bill were great fun and we wished we had another day. The theme is rail history because of its location. The room was attractive and comfortable with a huge bathroom. Some birding in large yard and they're working on drawing more birds to feeder.

BTW, don't expect any "good" restaurants any closer than Waycross, but you won't stave.
