I selected this hotel to stay in Christmas Eve and Christmas Day while visiting my son. I had been a Fayetteville resident and was only familiar with this property because I drove past it frequently. The pictures looked inviting and the pet package sealed the deal. I was placed in the first floor room on the outside corner of the building facing the pool. When I went into the room, the temperature was about 56 degrees. I cranked up the heat, left my coat and gloves on and still had to pull down a blanket from the closet to bundle in to stay warm. I ordered pizzas to take to my son's apartment for dinner and when I came back, I discovered that the windows were not shut completely and no matter what I tired, I could not get them to shut completely. I asked for extra towels to stuff into the window to block the cold. Considering that the room had an outrageiously high ceiling, that tiny little heater was going to have to work awfully hard to reheat the room. It finally got passibly warm (I still had to wrap in a blanket if I wasn't covered up in the bed. The refrigerator in the room clanked horribly and I had to unplug it. The mattress was tired and the bedding was very worn. The walkways on the pool side were very uneven and I tripped and fell one morning. I mentioned my problems at the desk when I checked out and the clerk acted like I was annoying her. This hotel is incredibly tired, smells bad and seriously is in need of an interior renovation. Even though it was convenient to where my son lives, I would never stay at this poorly managed hotel again.

We stayed here with several other families for my daughter's soccer tournament. The rooms were clean and quiet with a large refrigerator. Breakfast was well stocked and nicely laid out. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We ordered pizza for the girls one evening and I bought a case of waters which could not fit in the large room fridge. The front desk person made room in the back kitchen for them and brought them out nice and cold for us. The pool is small and we sort of took it over, so other guests were probably a bit surprised but it was a great retreat from the heat after being out on the fields all afternoon. Cute landscaping and exterior decor, I almost passed it when I was first looking for it. We had a great time and I would recommend this hotel for future visitors. Simple but clean and inexpensive.

We were surprised when we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in Fayetteville because it does not look anything like hotel shown at the website. This hotel was pictured as being very new and modern. It had a little charm but it lost that charm when we went into our room. It looked like it hadn't been updated in years. The TV was the picture tube style that we were unable to watch because the picture was so bad. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off and the toilet seat was barely attached. The breakfast was good and the people working there were polite. When I asked about the ancient TV's I was told that new ones "were on order". But I am not sure if that is true or not and I will not go back to find out. The swimming pool was a dark green.

I loved the place it has a colonial look and comfortable bed. roomy room. I thought that they should have had a change of fruit instead of bananas. I enjoyed my 9 day stay. They were painting rooms while I was there. No complaints. Manager even gave me cookies and 2 bottles of water to travel with.
