I came to Atanta to hangout with my best friend and we stayed at two different Marriotts on the northside of the city. The first was really nice and modern and quiet. However, we only spent one night but were overall very pleased. The next two nights were at this location and it was terrible from start to finish. We arrived when a large family reunion was at the hotel. I knew that it was probably going to be noisy to some degree and so I asked for the highest room possible. I was told the highest floor I could be put on was 3, which was actually some sort of ugly addition to the hotel. The room was extremely dated from the tube TV, popcorn ceilings, peeling wallpaper, and the old AC unit. After being at the hotel for an hour, we heard kids running and laughing (from the reunion group) and we were moved to the highest floor, which was 6 at the time. We moved and while in the elevator we encountered kids playing and hitting all the buttons and making a ruckus. We got to our room only to discover that is was on a floor with mostly kids from the reunion, seriously why would they do that??? Anyways we tried to deal with it since my friend got a little sick from the sun hanging out at the lake. After about another hour, enough was enough and I called down to the front desk because the room next to ours was playing rap. The front desk said they would relocated the neighbors and send a security gaurd up to check things out. Well the noise did not stop and I actually met the security gaurd going down the lobby, who was actually delivering towels to a room! He told me that the hotel was overwhelmed and that they had given up on controlling the guests. I went downstairs again to be moved, and while going down I walked into an elevator that had an empty and half spilled beer bottle sitting on the floor. Anyways, we got moved again to the highest floor which 8 and you guessed it there were still people from the group on the floor. By this time I was done carrying my luggage and making my sick friend move from room to room and we contacted Priceline to try to move us to another property but was only offered a $10 coupon...thanks. The next morning I called the Marriott customer service line and I talked to a wonderful lady that moved us to the club floor, or whatever it is called and even compensated us with free internet access. Pretty much the front desk staff were liars and were honestly useless. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and this has to be one of the WORST. Oh, and at the time the hotel was under "renovation" which meant the hotel looked terrible and there was a lot of noise in the morning. I would avoid this hotel like the plague and stay at the one that is west of this location. However, if you are looking to use mass transit and take MARTA's train into downtown or Buckhead this is a good location to jump on it. There is also a lot of places to eat and a mall within walking distance. There plenty of other hotels in the area and I suggest you check them out before this lovely piece of....well you know.
Room Tip: If you want a higher room, you must call the customer service number because the front desk is usele...
