“Secluded escape from the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My husband and I like to get away for a weekend now and then to a country B&B and this one was possibly the finest one yet.
The comfort and amenities were superb. There were cookies and beverages of every kind waiting for us when we arrived. Breakfast was spectacular.
After enjoying a relaxing bath in our jacuzzi, I sat on the porch in the dark with a glass of wine and rocked myself to total relaxation watching the stars, even saw a shooting star.
The room was very clean. The house was beautiful and very secluded. The location was perfect. Short drive to downtown Dahlonega, which is not a typical town at all. Very unique shops and dining experiences.
I would definitely love to stay there again.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms would be perfect. They are all very nice, clean, and comfortable.

“"If I were a cat, I would purr...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We chose Long Mountain Lodge based on the rave reviews on Trip Advisor and were absolutely delighted with our stay! The lodge is gorgeous, and the extra touches provided by Tim and Dianne - cheese and wine in the afternoon, fresh cookies, plush robes - made the experience that much lovelier. And Dianne's three course breakfasts are beyond compare! We can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: Five of the room have fireplaces; lovely views from all rooms.

“Wonderful Anniversary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We had a wonderful time for our 7th anniversary at the Long Mountain Lodge. Flowers were awaiting as my husband arranged that with the innkeeper before hand. They also included a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. How nice! We loved the little extras and our room had a whirlpool tub and huge bath. Outside of our patio was a beautiful landscape of GA's finest mountains. We utilized the hiking maps and hiked around the lodge and also at one of the parks. The hike up the falls is so worth it and what a feeling to have made it!

Breakfast was delicious every morning and eating on the screened porch was such a treat (even though we were always the LAST ones to get there they had it ready and warm!)!
We loved this gold mining town and spent a lot of time downtown and visiting the winery's.

We can't wait to visit again!

Room Tip: We had the Winding Stairs Gap Suite suite and it was very private and cozy.

“When Can We Move in?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

I am a long-time B&B visitor, having stayed in more than 100 across the country. And this is truly one of my favorite locations. The log-cabin style home sits on the top of the mountain, up a perilous driveway, with extraordinary views. The house was built by the owners as a B&B, and the owners house is next door. For this reason it has all the best features of a hotel and a bed & breakfast. The rooms are spacious, with roomy private baths, flat screen TVs, wi-fi, and wood-burning fireplaces. The main floor provides a comfortable sitting room with its own wood-burning fireplace, a dining area where breakfast is served and a kitchen that is open for use by guests, if you need to store some leftovers in the refrigerator or use the microwave. Each afternoon they put out snacks, and tea and cocoa is available at all times. One thing we noticed was the attention to detail. They truly thought of everything! Our room, The Quinn, had its own private entrance off a small deck, which led directly to our car. The B&B seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's really just about 7 miles from quaint adorable downtown Dahlonega. And the Monteluce Vineyard, Amicalola Falls, and Funky Chicken Art Project are all within a 30-min. drive. For you foodies and winos, this is a fantastic location for both! Colleen, the owners' daughter, provided us with a delicious breakfast each morning to get our day started. We will definitely stay here any time we go to the Smokies!

Room Tip: The Quinn is a spacious beautiful room upstairs, with a desk in a nook. It has a private entrance, a...

“Pricey...but worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

This lovely out-of-the way B&B is absolutely beautiful! Guest rooms have working wood-burning fireplaces, very comfortable beds, etc. The owners could not be more accomodating. A tad pricey but everything is first class. Great breakfast prepared and served by Ms. Quigley. A top 10 B&B!!
