I get the impression they are trying to make the best out of a bad situation. I am a man and I travel alone. I arrived to this hotel at night in the pouring rain. I was able to park under the hotel, move my boxes around, remove my luggage, and walk to the lobby entrance without getting wet. That was wonderful. The exterior was clean and the pool looked nice. There was a guard on duty, and the receptionist was sweet. I became aware later that this is not a good part of town. But I felt relatively safe. The hotel structure and design is old. The decor and furnishings have been updated. Walking from the lobby to my room at night the place felt creepy. My room was not beautiful and top-notch, but it was relatively clean and everything worked. I cashed in points to stay here, so it was free and I was out first thing in the morning.
