Was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was great and this is the only place to stay if your traveling with kids. The suites are the perfect size. Will definitely stay here again.

This was my first time staying here. All rooms are smoke free, which I appreciated even though I am a smoker. I don't smoke in my home and it was nice not to have to smell it in my room. Family oriented. Everyone on staff greeted you with a smile and was very helpful. They are pet friendly. A very nice breakfast buffet is available every morning. The grounds as well as the hotel were clean. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation and would certainly recommend them to my friends. We stayed here while coming down for my grandson's graduation from FT. Benning,
We stayed at Home-Towne Suites in Columbus,Ga 2 times while visiting our son at Ft. Benning and were very impressed. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean. We liked the location-it's tucked away off the main highway and there is a restaurant and convenience store within walking distance. The pool area was private and it was never very crowded. They have a continental breakfast every morning and 2 computers in the lobby for guest use. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ft. Benning. It takes about 20-25 minutes to get to the base but it's a much nicer area than the hotels closer to the base. Avoid the Victory Drive hotels!
I stayed at this hotel for my son's family weekend from basic training. It was just about as far north as you can get in Columbus, about a mile from a shopping center so the location wasn't too bad. Alot of road construction in the area as the time of our visit. It was about 15 min from Fort Benning main gate.
The staff was just the best, couldn't have asked for better.
The hotel was average. It's a fairly new property. The have a mini kitchen, a sitting area and pretty comfortable beds. The bathroom was very small and the toilet has no lid, so there isn't anywhere to put clothes, etc while showering. (seems petty, but really was kind of a pain).
They have two computers in a business area near check in where you can access the internet and print stuff if needed.
The breakfast constisted of prepackaged danishes, dry cereal, some frozen mini sausage biscuits you can warm up and coffee. Not great.
No gym on the property, you do have access to some gym somewhere in the area during your stay, but I didn't have time to locate it.
There is an outdoor pool with grill you can use. I didn't have any luck finding a hotel in the area that had an indoor pool at all, which seemed a bit strange to me.
Really the only thing that bothered us was our room had an unpleasant smell. It was a chemical kind of smell, not rot or mildew. So we just got some air freshener and went on with our visit.
Not a bad place, but I am staying at a hotel with a gym on our next visit.
We stayed here overnight during a visit to Columbus State University and were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was immaculate and quite spacious - full kitchen, small "living area," and clean, comfortable beds - what you would expect from a 3+ star hotel at a 2 star price. As if that were not enough, the staff was absolutely wonderful! The hotel's location is also very safe and convenient to many options for dining and shopping. I will definitely stay here each time I visit, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Columbus or Fort Benning. This hotel is rated #1 with good reason!
