“Updated Review - Still Needs Improvment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

As I said in my first review of this hotel, it has the potential to be excellent. Though I continue to stay here for the convenience, it still doesn't measure up to being more than average. Thankfully, they completed the renovation that seemed to drag on for month after month. But, it's the little things (or maybe they aren't so little) that make a stay here a bit frustrating. The front desk staff are great, but the housekeeping staff seems to constantly screw up (like leaving yesterday's washcloth in the tub on this visit). The internet always has a weak signal and I'm convinced that it's nothing more than an insufficient number of routers and poor placement of them. The guest computer in the lobby is outdated and running an old version of IE. The TV gets the least number of stations I've ever seen in a hotel located in a metro area. And the showers have those annoying water saver heads that make rinsing off a challenge (where do you save water if you end up standing in the shower longer?). I will say that the breakfast buffet isn't bad and has a decent array of items. The beds are reasonably comfortable, but they give you 4 puny pillows rather than 2 nice big ones. Lastly, the elevators are slowwwwwww, so getting a room on the first floor is adviseable.

I can't give this hotel more than an average rating. I wouldn't say "don't stay here." However, if you have good options, they're worth exploring.

Room Tip: Get a room on the first floor and towards the back of the hotel. Otherwise, you'll get the noise...

“Hampton Inn Cartersville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

This is a very good hotel. We stayed at thios hotel due to it's proximity to Cartersvelle Medical Center as our daughter was having surgery there (1.4 miles and 2-3 minutes from hospital). We are quite happy that we picked this hotel as everything about it was excellent.
We most likely will stay here again.

“Needs an update”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

We spent an evening at the Cartersville, GA Hampton Inn and although we were comfortable, in the light of day, this inn needs a face lift. The room had seen some updates, but the dings in the walls and gouges in the room furniture were disagreeable. The bathroom, although it had some updating, showed old floor moulding and some dating to show the wear it had been through over the years. Although the breakfast area was kept orderly, the funiture was stained and really needed recovering. The spills and drips on the upholstery were disconcerting.
When we were asked how everything was at checkout, I told the desk person we were comfortable, but that the stay would be better if the place had been remodeled completely. The clerk was obviously not expecting this comment even though I was quite pleasant.
I would stay here if I had not other alternative in the area. There is a Holiday Inn Express nearby, and would choose this instead of the Hampton even through I am an Honors member.

Room Tip: Choose elsewhere but take if no other alternative is available. We reserved one of the last 3 rooms...

“Nice Clean Room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

Nice clean room, the only drw back is the outside pool and no hot tub/spa.
Very nice selection of foods for breakfast.
Would stay again if I wasn't looking for a pool/hot tub.

Room Tip: upper floor

“First rate!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

We really enjoyed our days at the Hampton Inn. We needed to be in Cartersville for family and it worked out so well. We upgraded for just $10 for a room with a sofa and it really made a nice difference; then we could actually serve a quick meal to all the family since there was a microwave, small fridge and coffee table. The free breakfast is excellent. The layout is pretty with a large breakfast area in the middle of the preoprty and coffee available all the time. Front desk staff very knowledgeable. We will be returning in October.
