“Um.....no thanks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2010

I was very surprised by the great reviews of this place now that we stayed there. First impression - unfriendly woman who wouldn't even open the door to let me in to the office to check in. I felt like I was a criminal or something. Next impression - overwhelming smell of scented laundry soap or some sort of cleaner in the room. I sneezed all night. Don't stay here if you are sensitive to smells. The fold out bed had garbage and old magazines in it once opened. The ceiling was peeling and cracked in 3 places over the bed and the door had no weatherstripping and cold air/hallway light came through the door last night. It was just above freezing so the heater blew hard all night. Also, woken up 3 times by very nearby trains rumbling past! Not impressed. breakfast mediocre.

“Friendly, Clean, & Pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2009

Picked this hotel on a whim while driving from South Georgia back to Wisconsin after a few days of backpacking-- friendly staff, nice bed, clean and spacious room, clean swimming pool. Well worth getting off the main drag when driving from the interstate. My only complaint would be the breakfast they offered, which I assume would be better once their renovations are complete.

“Very pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2009

We stayed here one night while attending a local equine event. This hotel must be under new managment because there are many renovations taking place (none of which disturbed our stay). The front desk staff was extremely kind and helpful. The restaurant was closed due to remodeling (for which the staff apologized for not being able to provide a hot breakfast) however the continental breakfast was simple but nice. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms appeared to have been redone. The pool was in very nice condition and the grounds in general were clean and well kept.

“Would not recommend this to my worst enemy”

Worst motel I have ever stayed in. Trains blaring horns every 3 hours, bed bug bites, rust on tub and oily film on tub, staff tromping up and down stairwell, NO pool as advertised, just a sludge filled hole, "business center" in a PC in a storage closet that is slower than a snail, and difficult to find because sign was torn off pole and flapping in wind. Only positive thing was Korean night clerk and breakfast. Choice need to drop this one!

“Not bad for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2008

This Hotel is old and in need of an update, but it is clean. If your looking for fancy this is not the one for you. The full hot breakfast was wonderful at the hotels restaurant. We were just there for one night but not bad for the price and it was close to the location we needed to be at.

  • Liked — The Breakfast
  • Disliked — The shower door hard to open due to rusting and very old.
