“Elegant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed four nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. The Lodge was so beautiful inside and out. It was decorated for Christmas in an elegant way. The room was immaculate and the service from every aspect was excellent.
We had so many options for recreation: horseback riding, zip lining, biking, hiking and touring the Night of Lights. Plus a (small) fair with rides, petting zoo, etc.
We will definitely return for another vacation.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking Lake Lanier

“1st Class 1 night Stay - Fun for All!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We were visiting family in Commerce, Georgia over the New Year and part of the visit included a one night stay in one of the lodges at Lake Lanier. The accommodation was clean, spacious with a hot tub that had views over part of the lake. My brother-in-law and I were given an afternoon pass and played 9 holes of golf at the superbly manicured Legacy Golf course. We were back in time to take the kids to what they call a 'Carnival' (we Brits call it a fairground). We also had a meal in one of the Legacy restaurants which was excellent value for money with excellent service to match. This was followed by a 7 mile tour of the Christmas lights that would have made The Griswalds happy. The following morning's breakfast was back up at the main Lodge and again was very good with a great range to suit everyone's taste buds. All in all a great time was had by all. Friendly, courteous staff as you would expect.

“Would go again”

We stayed two nights New Year's weekend. We initially booked a lake house, but were disappointed upon arrival bc it did not seem be very kid friendly since they are not on flat ground and outdoor space to play was limited. We went to the lodge and asked for different accomodations and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. We had two families with small kids so we got two adjoining rooms. It was great weather and there was plenty to do inside and out so the limited space was not a problem. I do wish they had fridges in the room as we were traveling with small kids who can't always wait til everyone gets dressed to go to the restaurant for a glass of milk. We did the activities another reviewer mentioned...rented a golf cart to see the lights, rode ponies at the stable and went to the carnival. We even rented a cart during the day just to ride the kids around to see the whole resort. The husbands wanted to play golf, but that didn't work out this trip. We thought it was a great trip with small kids and want to go back to check out the water park. I have a friend who lives near Flowery Branch who says she knows lots of people with season passes to it.

“Nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We came for 2 nights to have some family time with our daughters (8 & 5). The lodge was beautiful and decorated for Christmas. We booked a package that included the room, the Magical Nights of Lights, arm bands for the kids for unlimited rides at the Santa Village, a golf cart to ride around in, and breakfast the next morning - all for $219. We felt like it was quite a deal considering entry to the lights is $60 a carload.

Check in was easy, the staff had already prepared our keys and had them in an envelope with a map and our name printed on it. We got a room with 2 queens, which was on the small side, but fine for our needs. Every room has a balcony so we enjoyed the views of the lake.

The Magical Night of Lights was fun - it wasn't crowded when we were there since it was after Christmas. There is a carnival at the end of the lights - you can purchase wristbands for $20 a person for unlimited rides. Again, we had a package that included those so we didn't have to shell extra money.

We had breakfast buffet the next morning - it was very busy because there was a New Years Eve party the night before. The food was fine - typical breakfast buffet- there was something for everyone.

We ate at the Bullfrogs restaurant twice while we were there and it was good both times. Nice portions, lots of choices.

There were many things to do around the lodge, even in the winter. There were games set up in several places - checkers, chess, bingo, ping pong, billiards. All were free. There are extensive walking trails around the islands which we loved. We took our daughters for pony rides at the stables and they loved it. The staff there was fantastic and let our girls brush the horses, taught them how to put on a saddle and let them choose which pony they wanted to ride.

We would definitely come back.

“Wonderful One Night Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

We took advantage of the Magical Lights Deal which included our hotel suite, Magical Lights Tour, Carnival unlimited ride wristbands and breakfast! Our family of 3 thoroughly enjoyed this little last minute getaway and are looking forward to making this an annual family tradition. We're already planning to visit again in the summer, maybe next time we'll stay in a villa! So glad we decided to visit!
