When we reserved our room at the days inn off highway 17 in brunswick, we were assured of a room with a pool. We were not told that the pool was being cleaned and would be out of commission for our stay. We were also not told this when we checked in on July 7th. When we got to our room, we found out that the room had not been cleaned very well either. The ice machine on our floor was also broken, and several of the parking places were taken up with construction debris. The next morning, when I inquried as to when the pool would be finished, the hotel clerk could not tell me. The only thing she would say is that they had too much algae so it had to be cleaned. I talked it over with my wife and we went to the Red Roof by I-95 and reserved a room and went back and checked out of the days inn. The clerk at the days inn did not seem very concerned that she was losing a guest. After this fiasco, our trip did take a better turn though.

First room, bathtub broken with dirty water under it.
Second room - somebody was already in there.
Third room - just plain filthy, dirty blankets, soiled chairs etc. I prayed not to get some skin disease. The funniest thing: every room has a letter from the management promising you "unique experience", and money back if you are not satisfied. There was no money back, and the experience was "unique" all right.

The first room we were given literally had black mold all over the walls, and stank. The second room had other people's belongings in it. We ended up leaving, and were stuck hunting for any hotel with room available on 4th of July weekend. Never again will I stay at a Days Inn.

What a dump this place is. We were tired when we
checked in, so we decided to overlook the holes in
the sheetrock, peeling wallpaper, and general filth
because we needed to get some sleep for another long
day of driving. Then the cockroaches started coming
out. The room was infested.
By far the filthiest, most disgusting place I've
ever stayed, and I've done quite a bit of traveling.
