We spent a long weekend at Chateau Elan late Jan 2012 as part of a Spa Girl's Trip. We had never been there before and 3 of the 4 guests were flying in for our trip and were looking for a upscale experience. As part of our stay, we decided to booked a 2 bedroom villa so that we could enjoy the common area and kitchen as part of our time together. Upon our arrival, we were disappointed to find the villa was unfortunately lacking in some of the typical updated amenties one have come to expect at resorts (ie, no DVD or pay-per-view TV) and the villa itself felt "cheap" because of several years old, lower end quality furnishing, carpeting, appliances and bedding. The attention to detail in our room was just not there -- we found trash underneath the couch & on the floor. We ordered room service for breakfast the next morning and also was disappointed in the quality and presentation of the food. We were off to a bad start and were nervous about what the spa experience would be like for us. Thankfully, it was night and day. The spa was immaculately decorated … it was warm, inviting but also updated and clean. We spent the entire day at the spa and even went back to our room to get our things to shower and dress at the spa instead of our rooms because of the ambience (and quality of the showers!). The services were amazing and each person was so nice to us. We enjoyed a nice long lunch at the Spa and met the head of Food and Beverage for the resort and shared with him some of our earlier disappointments. Simply put, he listened, acknowledged our issues and addressed our concerns immediately. The difference here was that he personally took action and we felt like VIP. Everyone at Chateau Elan really focuses on the guest experience and goes out of their way to make you feel special. We also were fortunate enough to meet their Resort Director and he also took great care of us too by simply showing his personal appreciation for our stay. It meant the world to us and by the end of our weekend, we went from disappointment to wanting to come back in the future.
Thanks to the amazing management team and great staff at Chateau Elan, I will definitely come back… I just hope you can match your focus on guest services with your accommodations and you will be a force to be reckon with in Atlanta!
