“A very relaxing getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Me and my daughters stayed at the Aska Lodge a few weeks ago. We were looking for a quiet getaway, a mother daughter girl scout bonding trip, away from city life. The reviews of Aska Lodge seemed great and I booked it based on that. From the moment we walked through the door, I knew I had made the right choice. The lodge was beautifully decorated with Christmas and holiday decorations and was extremely cozy, comfortable and inviting. Sitting on the porch wrapped in a blanket watching the sunrise while sipping coffee, roasting marshmallows by a campfire and seeing the night stars, eating a snack and cookie from their bar, playing with their dear dog Abby, awaking at 7am to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee, playing games and reading by the fireplace....we had many great experiences while we stayed there. Our room was very comfortable and we visited a waterfall nearby and walked by the Toccoa river, based on their recommendations which was great fun. Our Jessie Lynn room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts were extremely delicious, maybe a tad bit small for us, because we are huge breakfast eaters. But very nice especially the sweet potato pancakes with home grown blueberries in sauce. Both Mary Jo and Bob are extremely kind, very helpful and welcoming, and have built up the lodge with very personal attention to details. We came away from the Aska Lodge with fond memories of the wonderful and peaceful time that we enjoyed.

“Excellent Stay in a Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

My wife and I spent a weekend at the Aska Lodge in November 2011. Prior to this visit, we had never stayed in a bed and breakfast, and didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the innkeepers after a late arrival and welcomed into a large, warm living/dining area with fireplaces, plentiful seating, and lots of snacks. The Aska Lodge has guest bedrooms upstairs, each with its own electric fireplace, and I think most have some type of balcony connected to the room. Overall, we had an excellent stay. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the house had a very nice view, and the innkeepers were more than helpful. The breakfast was awesome, and in my opinion, one of the best parts of the lodge! The town of Blue Ridge had lots to do, so we spent the day out shopping, sight seeing, and hiking, then came back and watch TV in the lodge living room by the fire. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Aska Lodge, and I have no doubt that my wife and I will be making a return visit.

“A superb holiday getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

We have been to the Aska Lodge several times but never during the holidays. Mary Jo and Bob have decorated the lodge with a snowman theme. The collection is bountiful and very creatively arranged from fireplace mantel to a piano covered in "snow" and "snow people." Everywhere you look there are snow people from fanciful to exquisite. We enjoyed spending time looking at each one in amazement. Even outside our favorite room there were more welcoming snow people. As usual, breakfast was fabulous. We have never had the same breakfast twice. This time it was caramel eggnog french toast. Extra yummy! Mary Jo and Bob have succeeded in making this B&B a superb mountain retreat.

“Felt Like "Home"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

We spent 4 nights at the Aska Lodge and words are hard to describe how wonderful this B&B is. Let me start my saying Mary Jo and Bob are kind, friendly and caring. The Lodge is amazing. We were there at Christmas time so it was decorated for the occassion. I loved it. The furnishings are beautiful, the rooms large (ours was very large!!) and lovely. We stayed in the Rachel Victoria room. We peeked in the other rooms and all look warm, cozy and beautiful. The breakfast every morning was such a treat! It was awesome. There were snacks and homemade cookies available in the gathering room as well as hot cocoa, coffee and a small refridgerator of sodas if wanted. It was such a warm comfortable place, we wore our sweat pants, T-shirts and socks to the gathering room and snuggled to the warm fire in the fireplace! The other guests did too! We were all 'at home'. :-) We *will* be back and we will definately tell our family and friends about Aska Lodge. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in Blue Ridge now. We felt sad to leave! We found Aska Lodge on Trip Advisor and the reviews convinced us to book there. All said is true to the word. We are glad to have new friendships with Mary Jo and Bob. Look forward to the next trip there!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rachel Victoria room. This room is large with a fantastic view. Had a King Bed and...

“Blue Ridge hideaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

My husband and I spent a few days in the north Georgia area and stayed at the Aska Lodge. It is warm and friendly with all the comforts of a well run B & B. We enjoyed exploring the town of Blue Ridge and other small towns in the area.
Coming home to homemade cookies and tea was a treat. We are planning a "Leaf" trip next fall. Thank you Mary Jo and Bob for your thoughtful hospitality.
