Checked in for a 3 night stay and was sent to room 209. Upon inspecting this room we found the mattress to be the worst that we have ever experienced in all of our travels. The mattress had two big sinkholes where your butt would lie on both sides. This was either a very old mattress or someone had jumped on this bed making the holes. We brought this to the attention of the desk clerk and were given the only other room available with a king bed, room 201. The room according to the desk clerk was what they call musty. We decided to check out this room and see what she meant. Well, the room wasn't musty but did have a smoke odor that wasn't too bad so we took it. The clerk also gave us a can of Lysol to help with the odor. The room was clean but the smoke odor lingered. The bed in this room was more comfortable. This is the first Holiday Inn Express that we have stayed in that did not have a microwave in any of their rooms. We asked for one and were told that they are not available. The elevator on the 2nd floor is awkward to access because of a wall that is in the way. The view from room 201 was awful. When looking out the window, we could only see a slanted roof of the pool area. We were looking out at shingles staring us in our face. I mentioned the bed in room 209 to the daytime clerk, who I believe was the owners wife and she said "we just got all new mattresses." I told her to go see for herself, because they didn't get one in room 209. This hotel is bare minimum in every way. We will not stay here in the future. We are Priority Club Platinum Members and received no special treatment. I could not recommend any other place in Blairsville to stay. We will go someplace else in the future.
