This was the first year that all my cousins were visiting Florida for Christmas. My parents own a 3 bedroom house, which was not gonna be enough room for all 8 cousins to sleep along with all the adults. I heard about Budget Inn Suites and because it was close by decided to book them for an entire week. The price was affordable for sure, which was the best selling point, but that was the best part of the motel.
A couple of problems I ran into:
1. None of my cousins or I smoke, and I specifically asked for NON-SMOKING rooms. they gave us 2 smoking rooms, and I asked them that the rooms smelled funny, and they assured me everything was ok. Until my cousin who has asthma couldn't breathe properly, did they then tell us that the rooms were smoking, and moved us to non-smoking rooms.
2. The key cards never worked. We came back to the motel late most days (after 11pm) and the key cards never worked, I mean not even 1 single day. I had to go to the front desk to get them remade.
3. I booked my rooms over 1 month in advance and specifically asked for connecting rooms. When i get there, apparently they were none left. This was after I was assured that our rooms would be connected.
the receptionists were not rude, but definitely not friendly. When most of your guests are from out of town, its pleasant to have a smile on your face, which they lacked.
At any rate, this was the first and last time I would ever book a room at this motel. I'd rather spend the extra money and get a room at the Red Roof Inn or somewhere else.
