My wife and I stayed at the Zandoli Inn in Feb. of 2012 and it was perfect in every way!
The Inn itself was just five guest rooms (all with great views) and was in a very nice Caribbean style that went well with the beautiful, secluded surroundings. Our room was spotless and maintained to an almost new level. I was very impressed that everything looked new and fresh.
If you are expecting ultra luxury finishes in the room like marble floors, big flat-screen TV, high-end fixtures in the bathroom (like a vessel sink and an elaborate travertine shower) this isn't the place for you. But the room was still excellent.
We stayed in room 5 which was on the top floor with the most expansive, unobstructed view of Grand Bay. My recommendation is to book this room if it is available, but all the rooms had nice views--but room 5 was the best!
Linda and Jenn (mother and daughter) went above and beyond in arranging any activity we we wanted to do. They were both engaging, friendly and seemed to be always available to help should the need arise.
Jenn cooked delicious, imaginative, gourmet meals every night that were definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Be sure and opt in for this option!!!
There is also a small pool with a fantastic view of the ocean and there are walking trails through the 4-5 acres of rain forest that are part of the grounds.
The inn is pretty secluded on the south side of the island but within walking distance there is a friendly fishing village. The fisherman bringing in their catch was interesting to watch and they didn't mind us getting right up and taking photos or chatting.
Down the road from the inn the other way was a short hike up to an abandoned radio tower with expansive views.
The capitol, Roseau, is about a 30 minute (hilly) drive away.
There are lots of other activities that Linda or Jenn can arrange for you to do on your own or they can book you on an escorted tour (our tour of the east side of the island to Victoria Falls and the Emerald Pool with Sea-Tac was fantastic and highly recommended).
They also have free internet.
