“Hotel buildings a little worn but grounds are beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Location - in a quiet neighbourhood of the Sawgrass area, pretty close to the Sawgrass outlets. The hotel website says they have free shuttles to/from the outlet. The grounds are beautiful, with golf course, several pools with waterfalls, walking paths.
Hotel - The main building is huge with the spa, conference rooms, restaurant, registration at the far end. The hotel rooms are located behind the main building in about 8 low rise separate buildings resembling timeshare units. These buildings are starting to show their age and could use some updating.
Room - quiet, clean, decent sized and had a small kitchen. Not sure if all the rooms have this. As mentioned in other Hyatt reviews, I'm surprised that the Hyatt only provides 2 double sized beds instead of queen sized beds.
Amenities - we used the main pool which was a good size, with an outdoor bar nearby, as well as bathroom facilities and a hot tub, with plenty of lounge chairs around. Did not get to check out the other pools, fitness centre, or spa.
Price - bid for it on Priceline and got about 50% off the regular rate so found it to be of great value. Not sure if it'd be worth paying the regular price though.

“Location, Location, Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Thanks to Mr. Negotiator on priceline.com they picked our hotel and we couldn't have been happier. My wife and I took a last minute trip to see a hockey game at the Bank Atlantic Center and were thrilled with our hotel. The hotel has an inviting lobby with a very nice bar/ restaurant area. The pool is very well maintain and has a spa like fee. We stayed in building three, which has a remarkable view of the golf course. Our room was huge, big a flat screen, balcony with chairs, as well as a bathroom with a bidet. It is a quick drive from the airport as well as the beach. I would recommend this place to a friend.

“Nice, reasonably priced, nothing to get too excited about”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in December. We were visiting family in the area so we didn't spend a ton of time at the hotel during the day, we mostly just relaxed there at night.

The positives:
1. The grounds are very pretty - there is a nice walking path where I took my dog for strolls, a huge pool area, and apparently a waterfall that I must have missed, but everyone else is raving about. Sounds nice, even if I didn't get to see it. It was a little too cold for us to swim at night when we returned to the hotel after day trips, but there was a nice swim up bar that could have been fun if we were there for more of a couple-y or beachy type trip. It closed super early, though. Probably only good for day drinking.
2. The room was spacious with lots of closet and drawer space. The bed was comfy. There was also a super cute patio with a table and two chairs looking out over the pond area.

The negatives:
1. The walls are a bit thin. We could hear every batch of ice fall from the icemaker across the hall. Also, we could hear people in the room adjacent to ours. Not full on conversations, just could hear that they were there and chatting.
2. The room was not as clean as I think a hotel should be. There were little hairs in the bathroom and the carpet that were there when we arrived and stayed for both nights. There was also a random bug on the bed. Not a bedbug. Just a bug. Whatever. I'm not super picky, and I care way less about the bug (I understand, it's close to the Everglades) than about the gross little hairs leftover from the previous guest. I just expect from a "resort and spa" that the room is cleaner than that.
3. Please stock the mini-bar. Particularly when all the hotel restaurants and bars close at like 5pm (exaggeration). We got back to our room at a bit after 10pm and wanted to have a beer or a glass of wine on the patio. There was one can of beer and a whole lot of empty space in the mini-bar. I called the front desk and no one answered. I called back and no one answered. I called until someone finally answered and they said "Oh. Oops. Well, we'll stock it tomorrow." They never actually stocked it. Just annoying.

Anyway. It's a nice place. I think we would have enjoyed the pool and other fun amenities if we were there more during the day. But the hotel really should step it up a notch in the cleaning and service areas if it is going to pass as an upscale sort of resort and spa. However, with the reasonable prices, maybe they are going more for value.

“Not worth it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

The hotel is outdated. Both exterior and interior need renovation. Rooms still look nice but pictures on the website are too beautiful to be true. The resort looks like an apartment complex with different buildings and exterior hallways. The grounds are beautiful, the main pool is pretty with a waterfall. There are lots of trees, bushes, plants and ponds with fish. There is also a spa by Elizabeth Arden which looked beautiful and serene.
When it comes to customer service it leaves much to be desired. When I called the hotel in advance I spoke to concierge and asked a lady on the phone if the hotel had a resort fee. She said she did not know and that I should look closer at my reservation confirmation. The front desk was aloof and indifferent. Kristin at the front desk was the only helpful and friendly
employee.
The good part is that there is no resort fee (I managed to find out after speaking to several people) and parking is free. It is quite a drive to Miami and attractions, but the huge Sawgrass Mall is close.
Overall I wouldn't come back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the main pool.

“Beautiful place but far away from the airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

This place is wonderful, nice and huge rooms, confortable beds and fast wifi. But if you want to spend only one night between your flight connection this place doesnt worth to stay a little bit far and taxi is expensive.
