My husband and I rented the penthouse suite for our 5 year anniversary. Upon arrival, the grounds were very lush and beautiful. We were given some helpful information on area restaurants and opted to go to one that was advised and followed the handy directions. The restaurant was very good but the drive rather far and through some very rough neighborhoods. Our room would get very cold at times and you had to advise the Innkeeper to change the thermostat of course or everyone would be adjusting. Our jaccuzzi tub in our room was dirty also which they immediately apologized and cleaned. I felt like although the property was in a "historic" area we couldn't just walk down the road to a cafe or shop. The property was also very close to the railroad tracks and we could hear it in the middle of the night. One night we ordered Chinese and were told we could not eat it in our room, I assumed it was because the food could attract ants but not being advised a reason was surprising. The positives were that the pool was warm, jaccuzi hot, the breakfast was the best I have had in my entire life...AMAZING! It was a great experience to have the breakfast of a liftetime morning of our anniversary. The staff is very friendly and rooms well appointed. Some of my review could be alittle "nit picky" but wanted to be candid and honest. All and all, we enjoyed our stay.
