“The best vacation ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

This is the THE best place to stay if you are taking a cruise out of Tampa, My husband and I wanted to spend some time with our teenagers before going on a 30th anniversary cruise and we spend three glorious days here with them. Aside for the incredible beach there weer great places to eat and shop near by and we visited the Dali Museum on their one year anniversary. Our suite was spotless. The staff were amazing. We asked for an hour delay in our check-out and they were gracious enough to allow it. Because thesuite had a washer and dryer we could pack lighter for our cruise. I hope we can return someday....

Room Tip: we were mid way to the beach and it was perfect

“nice stay, no problems to solve”

We spent 4 days here and had very pleasant stay. It's close to very nice beach, clean, well equipped for longer stays (washing&drying mashine, dish-washer, all cooking stuff), well working internet, huge TV and with dedicated parking place for every suite. Not so cheap, but definitely worhth to stay. There are even some nice restaurants around, so are planning to return the next year.

we chose a 2 bed suite and was so happy we did...kitchen had everything u could need...bedrooms were roomy had tvs in bedrooms and living room with cable balcony had great view of gulf...weather was even good...only thing wrong was the cold gulf lol but they have no control over that...we usually do the all inclusive and go as far south as possible but had no choice as last minute decision...we all were pleasantly surprised by this hotel would deffinitely recommend....

Room Tip: we chose a 2 bedroom suite....was perfect everything u could want in kitchen...had balcony with gulf...

“Home away from home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

The views form the suites were breath takingly beautiful. Beach is just foot steps from your door. Staff was friendly and courteous. We arrived a little early and our room was still occupied but they let us check in to another available room free of charge. The atmosphere of this facility is relaxed and perfect for family vacations. Shell exploring was excellent every tide brought in a new crop, no need to take a shelling excursion. Dolphins playing very near the shoreline twice during our stay. we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Higher floors closer to the front have better views.

It is quite common to see the dolphins frolicking along the shoreline, especially early in the morning. We are glad they put on a show and that you enjoyed your vacation with us!

“Hmm.. must have different rooms for different reservations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

There's no way the people who left glowing reviews of this hotel stayed in the same room I did. This hotel was just weird: for every pro (and there were plenty) there seemed to be a corresponding con (and, sadly.. plenty of them). So I'm listing them all, and giving this an average rating, so that maybe it will help you to make your choice of accommodations.

Pros: the staff is really friendly. I was traveling alone, so this was much appreciated, and very helpful.
Con: the staff didn't do much to alleviate concerns that arose, including my internet connection not working (and I was there on business), and filth in the room. The wakeup call didn't work, but they did take them manually as a result.

Pros: room is near beach. Or so they say
Con: where? I think there was some path leading back to the beach but nothing is lit up, at all. It's in a very very busy area on a main drag, so I think "beachfront suites" is rather misleading. It's more like, "access to beach in the daytime"....

Pros: there is a kitchen
Con: it's filthy. And I mean, *filthy*... I bought some bread to make toast in the morning. The toaster was positively covered in crud.. inside and out. There was no way I could make toast. Under the coffee cups, there was food. Under *several* cups. Disgusting. The flatware in the drawer had large crusts of food all over it. Terrible. This is not a kitchen you'll use.

Pros: the price is relatively good. There is also free parking, and free internet (when it works) which makes the price even better.
Cons: ... but when you compare to other hotels, not so good. Sure, you have a kitchen and several rooms, but the kitchen is not usable, and the rooms are dirty. I would have been better off spending a few dollars more each night for a clean hotel.

Speaking of clean: this place really was dirty. There was dirt on the floor, dust along the boards... the comforter had brown stains on it. I couldn't tell if it was marker or something less acceptable. I changed rooms. The sheets smelled and felt like no one had washed that room in months. On the other hand, the bathrooms and showers were very clean, which was a welcomed surprise.

Worse, there is no maid service. They come in once every three days to "freshen up" which is supposed to include dumping the trash. They didn't. They threw away my kitchen trash, did not touch the bathroom trash, and did not leave extra soap/supplies as they said they should. Ugh.

This wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. Right smack in the middle. If they would invest in cleaning services, this place would be outstanding.

Room Tip: Ask for a clean one.

We appreciate all reviews and strive to always improve. Most guests rave about our proximity to the beach and location. The State of Florida restricts lighting near the beach (path) to protect turtle nesting. We are terribly sorry for the oversights in the kitchen and will alert our housekeepers and inspectors to be more observant. We would always appreciate a quick call allowing us to correct any deficiencies immediately. Our housekeeping schedules are clear on web sites and at check in and confirmation letters. We are sorry that everything was not a "pro" and will hope to have the opportunity to make that happen in the future.
