My husband & I planned a last minute trip to Treasure Island. I called the hotel on the same day of arrival and they had a room available, we drove 8 hours from Atlanta to TI. We arrived late (1 am).
From the Outside:
The property is located on the corner of Gulf Blvd and 120th. Parking is limited but we found a spot. The property is very dark @ night, so it was a little difficult finding our room.
The Room:
We booked an efficiency w/ 2 queen beds for $55/night. Upon entering the room, the furnishings appeared dated & the room had an "old" smell to it. The room is very large for the price. You walk into the living area w/ couch, table, tv. The beds are against the window directly facing the door. There is a full kitchen with everything you would need to cook a meal. The bath is the average size w/sink, toilet and tub.
The Problem:
I always bring along Anti-Bacterial wipes, spray, etc to clean the knobs, remote, etc. After doing so, I discovered several ants on the nightstand between the beds. At first this did not bother me, so I wiped the area down hoping to get rid of them. But, once I pulled back the covers on the bed to check out the sheets, I was bothered! There were several ants crawling all over the bed including the headboard and pillows. I tried to shake off the ants hoping that would end the problem and even wiped down the headboard. We were tired from a long drive and we wanted our 3 yr old to get to bed. However, the ants didn't stop.
The Solution:
We decided that this place was not for us. We left immediately & found a great hotel a couple of blocks away that was very clean.
Overrall:
If you are a bargain seeker and don't mind staying in a very dated & dreary motel, this is the place for you. The previous posters who raved about this clean motel and fresh smelling rooms, didn't stay in #10.
